I think it might be of some use for us long noses when driving around town and on the blvd. Without the sense of smell you could probably enjoy the Philippines a lot more. Not sure on that P180 pricetag though......might be a bit of a long nose tax being charged.
I have to agree somethings are not so pleasant to smell or eat. Anyway it is amazing how many comments people make about noses when your in Phil'. Also they seem interested in my height at 6' 4". I have no idea why Evertime i crack my head riding an ez ride it seems to bring a bit of humor to the riders.
I have control of the muscles that control my nose and I can pretty much close my nostrils or flare them wide. This seems to amuse locals because I guess if you have a short nose it isn't very impressive whereas with the long nose it is a significant change. I tell them it's one of my superpowers and they burst out laughing. Hey, the long nose needs to do more than hold your shades on and identify you for special pricing, right?
They do it to anyone that is not from their city/region. In the past I had met several girls from Manila that were down here and on a few occasions I had to negotiate a lower price on the trikes for them. One trike driver was going to charge a (very obvious - tall, white skin, Taglish only speaking) Manila girl trying to get to the airport from the market 100pesos.....and she was going to pay it! I got it down to 15 pesos (best I could do as a Kano). Trike driver laughed at my negotiating for her and gave me a thumbs up after ogling the girl. lol It's not only us.
