    Hi Wretched Hyena and Josephen,

Wretched Hyena, thanks for the suggestion. I hope to see that monument someday. For the meantime, I go to travel channel and history channel to enjoy the beautiful places featured there. They sometimes feature USA there. It is awesome to see those places even if they are only on the screen but seeing those places actual is surely a different experience!

Josephen, Yes, I will tell my sister. She is getting married to Carlou her boyfriend this coming August 18. We are not sure if we could be there for her wedding. If you see her, please extend my regards and best wishes for her.

    Have a nice day!

    God bless!

    Cris

Ooh, that I am not sure. I am seven years now here in the Netherlands and permanently based here. Was home last year sometime between September-November. Was joining a little bit with the Silliman Aggies Rodeo Team during the Buglasan Festival but was not seeing her.

I am going only every three years to the Philippines.

    Hi cris

You seem to have your artist friends circle and university figures in your wedding entourage and all the talents ,wow amazing ! It’s something that is indeed memorable ,grand and unique in its own way . I only know Susan and kitty T among those you mentioned .I must be way too behind with updates of the art groups ,apart from the OGPA I only knew lol .I met some wonderful people/friends in OGPA but many of them are out of the Philippines now . Hope the group is still alive n kicking in action with the arts. This is a good info to anyone interested in visual arts in Dumaguete and about the local ALON group and Susan to connect to. I remember susan has an art shop before in dumaguete central just a short walk from the old Ricky’s .But she had moved and I haven’t got a clue where .Thanks for the info cris … might pop in her shop in Tinago when we’ll be in Dgte sometime .It was so long. I might join the ALON after my retirement lol .:D

    Hi Josephen and Pickled Newt,

    Thanks for your reply.

Josephen, Oh, glad to hear you are in Netherlands. You must have liked the place for you to settle down there. What kind of job are you doing there, if you do not mind telling? I hope I can get in touch with Julie. She is curently working at SPI in Bacong.

Pickled Newt, Well, our wedding wasn't really that grand. In fact, it was like a casual wedding where evryone was casually dressed and casually sitted to see our wedding. Do you remember Mong Atega, the campus figure in Silliman? He was the emcee during our reception. I forgot to tell you also that Sharon Dadang-Rafols and her husband Jaruvic Rafols were the ones that lighted our pathway. They deserve that because they were the very first couple married in the same venue we were married. With regards to the artist group in Dumaguete, I am sure you are most welcome to join when you retire...lol. :D Yes, there are a lot of artist groups that emerged in Dumaguete. You just have to feel which group you are most comfortable to join in...but I am pretty sure they have the same goal...to promote art in Dumaguete City! Yes Susan used to have a shop near Rickys but the entire block burned about 4 years ago ( forgot the actual date). She now has a shop in Tinago. You can't miss the billboard sign Sue's Art and Crafts! I am sure she will be happy to see you!:D

    Take care and God bless!

    Cris

    Hi Cris
I knew those you mentioned ,Sharon and Jaruvic and Moe,just a very small world. Jaruvic was once my classmate before .When I met up with some friends in the ogpa few yrs ago we all went to the Forest camp ,that was nice .When we’ll be in Dgte, I’ll see Moe for the book I owe him. Moe has actually a site with many of his photo shoots .I will give you a link in the PM here and have a look .It's fun

I was wondering if Susan accepts made to order frames or does she sells prepared canvas,do mount frames to paintings. I have a 14 y.o nephew ,also my god son there who seem to have artistic inclinations and would like to give him a canvas for his present ,although I can get them here, but I don’t like extra bulk of a canvas even smaller size added in my suitcase.Might be better just to buy them there. Thanks for all the infos Cris.
    Cheers
    newt

    Hi Pickled Newt and Josephen,

Pickled Newt, Yes, small world indeed! I saw the picture you posted in the thread "Road to Valencia". You have awesome pictures! I like the picture you posted of us at Forest Camp hanging bridge. It reminds me of old wonderful memories. With regards to getting a canvas, you can actually buy that at National Bookstore in Manila or Cebu if you happen to drop by there. If not, Susan can provide you with the ready canvas on plywood. That will save you space in you luggage...lol. :D Yes, she can also do the framing for you. She did most of framing for the artworks I exhibited during most of our art shows. I asked Susan to join our Dumaguete forum yesterday and I think she did. I still do not know what her user name is.

Josephen, Wow...I am happy for you! You have a wonderful job! I had a chance to see Rodeo here last Thursday (May 17) at Franklin Agricultural Expo Park. They tour from one state to the next. They are awesome to see but nerve wrecking too! I'll probably have multiple bruises and multiple bone fractures if I get to ride one...lol. I like seeing the children having a sheep ride. All of them got a troupy after the contest. I like the idea that every child is a winner by simply joining the contest even if they did not win. Well, the fact that they tried is indeed a sure winner!

    Take care and God bless.

    Cris
