Howdy from Texas! My wife and I (she's from Manila) have a piece of property on the outskirts of Dumaguete and plan to build a house there for our retirement. I'm an artist by trade. I'm also a writer, working on a book at this time. I hope to build a studio by the house and share it with other artists. We'll be going there in December. I love Dumaguete. It's so much better than the busy, crowded Manila. Manila has its charm, but Dumaguete has much more. You can visit my website at Texas International Pop Festival - Home Page I'm an old hippie and a peace freak. Peace, Richard
Welcome Richard! You will fit right in! Most of my friends are artists! Maybe when you're in town you could meet up with us and I could introduce you to the local artists of our city!!
That would be cool. I'm hoping that there will be lots of artists, it being a university town. I have had thoughts of having a studio next to my house where some locals could share space with me for free. I'm always looking for ways to promote otherwise wasted talent, and I know how it is not to have access to materials. Unfortunately, I can't retire for another eleven years or so. I'm only 54. Wish I could today, but... We'll be there in December, though.
THAT would be cool. We have Maria Galleria right now which has lots of artworks but adding another one would be great! More variety! You're sure to meet a lot of artists for sure!
I knew a Swiss artist doing nice things from his home south of Dgte, but he left. Have you been to Dgte hyena? Seems like I've known so many Richards in Dgte, though I can't see any of them being artists..
Yes, I've been there. My wife's family is from there. We have a piece of land that we plan to build on for retirement.
