    Hi Everyone,

I stumbled on to this site and already LOVE it!!!!!

I miss the Philippines so much and it reminded me of all the things I miss and love there.:D

I have volunteered with LCP in Dgte back and forth for over 13 years. I hope to one day return soon.

    God Bless,
    Cyndi:smile:

    Hi Cyndi,

Welcome to the forum. This place may be one of the best sites for the Philippines and certainly Dumaguete. How long have you been away and where are you now?

    Info

I have been volunteering with LCP (Little Children of the PHL) off and on for 13 years. I did have an extended stay there for 2 years. I have lived in Washington State to finish my degree then in Chicago for many years and now am currently residing in Springfield, MO which is my hometown.

    Thanks for the interest!

    Cyndi

    Cyndi,

Do LCP still have office in Dumaguete? Is LCP a religious group or just a non government organization? Just want to know?

LCP is a non-denominational Christian organization with a focus on educating children that are in poverty. After all these years it still amazes me that children are expected to pay for Public Education. I do know that there have been some new rules which are still trying to be enforced regarding payments of projects to teachers but it is still a long way from making Public Education FREE to everyone.

Yes, their main headquarters is in Daro and they serve all the surrounding communities including children in the mountains.

The American couple that started LCP were stationed at Silliman University years ago as Professors and raised their children in Dgte.
