This is the perspective of the soon to rise Robinsons Place - Dumaguete. Tentative opening date is May 2008. Prospective tenants can email their Letters of Intent to joseph.sian@robinsonsland.com
Incidentally, Joseph also happens to be the complex administration manager of Robinsons Place - Bacolod.

Isn't that the old plan? I think that is revised to accommodate a third level which will be mainly hotel rooms.

Echir, I only have this perspective. I don't know if the revised one can already be given out. Anyway, soon as I get hold of it, i will post it here. You are right, there is going to be a third floor, but management hasn't made any final decision yet whether it will be for a hotel.

I've been passing by Robinsons site and I have yet to see the tarpaulin hanging out on the giant stand that they are putting up in front of the site.

Yeah, am also thinking it's quite awkward to place a hotel on the third level of the mall as what the news are saying. Maybe it's a BPO center on the third level, or additional stores and partly BPO center. And maybe they will put the hotel on another building?

What do you think about the robinsons here? As far as I can see it will be bigger than robinsons bacolod and potentially bigger than SM bacolod. That means that it is potentially the largest mall in negros with 3 storeys store space @ 6 hectares footprint area. am i right ms. foxy?

Echir, I will give you some statistics to answer your questions:

    I. SHOPPING CENTERS DATA

    A. ROBINSONS PLACE - BACOLOD
    (3 levels)

Gross Floor Area - 48,000 sqm.
*current expansion to be completed by 3rd quarter 2008 will result in an
    additional 5,529sqm

Major Anchors: Robinsons Department Store Robinsons Supermarket
Junior Anchors: Handyman Do it Best, Robinsons Movieworld (6)
Food Court, Bowling & Billiards Center

    B. SM CITY BACOLOD (1 level)
(2 bldgs interconnected by a bridge)

Total Land Area - 161,096.60 sqm
Gross Floor Area - 61,413 sqm

Major Anchors SM Department Store, SM Supermarket
Junior Anchors SM Appliance, Ace Hardware, Surplus Shop, Watson's, SM
    Food Court, SM Cinema (4)

    C. ROBINSONS PLACE - DUMAGUETE
    (3 levels)

Total Land Area - 60,000 sqm
Gross Floor Area - yet to be obtained

Tenant mix can't be finalized yet inasmuch as leasing is still ongoing. Affiliates (RSI, RDS, Handyman, RMW will be coming in.)

    POPULATION STATISTICS COMPARISON (yr 2000)

    A. Total Population (Province)
    Negros Oriental - 1,130,088
    Negros Occidental - 2,565,723

    B. Total Population (City)
    Dumaguete City - 102,265 (household = 87,000)
    Bacolod City - 429,076 (household = 22,000)

Based on the above, you can easily conclude that SM City Bacolod is the biggest of the three. It has plenty of room for future expansion due to its huge land area. In terms of GFA, SM Bacolod has 6.1ha+.

The population of Dumaguete and Negros Oriental is quite small compared to that of Bacolod and Negros Occidental. Population is one major factor that all mall developers take into consideration when planning the size of a shopping center. The development of malls too, is also dependent on the retail appetite of the market per location.

Rest assured though, that Robinsons Place Dumaguete will definitely be bigger than:
Robinsons Town Mall - Los Banos - GFA = 10,000sqm
    Robinsons Place - Cebu - GFA = 18,000sqm
    Robinsons - Cagayan - GFA = 18,000sqm

I hope I have answered your questions my dear.
