I am a new member here and a definte supporter of Dumaguete. What a great place, people smile and are very kind......is that normal......yes, I guess it is very normal here. You have to love that. I met my beautiful asawa in Dumaguete and was married in Dumaguete, 2 years later. She will be coming to Canada soon, but I know we will be coming back often, maybe even retire here. Dumaguete grows in your heart, and the friendly people are the icing on the cake.........oops before I start rambling on, I better say .......... a warm " Hello" from Canada.
Hi pjcanuck, Welcome! Where do you live in Canada? We live in Seattle and travel to Vancouver often, beautiful city. There are several Valencianos living in the vancouver area.
Canadas great! I even got thrown in jail there once in Prince Rupert, the cell was cold as hell but the mounties were decent people. I hope one of my kids works out finding a job in Vancouver in the future.
Thanks guys, I am in Southern Alberta now, but grew up in Vancouver. Vancouver is beautiful city, but has grown lots. Prince Rupert is way up the B.C. Coast and all cells in Canada are cold. Most of the mounties are just doing their job.........a job other people don't want to do......so I always tip may hat to some great guys.....well most. There is a great shortage of workers in Canada, especialy Alberta and B.C, so most people are not long out of work. Vancouver has a huge Filipino population, with meetings and gatherings and even their own newspaper. It is like a second home for many people. Seattle is a great city also, I like your title "West Coast Hokies " there is a border there but it could have easily been the 48th or 50th parallel instead of the 49th parallel when they made the treaty and borders. West coast people have a diferent outlook than most of the nation.......see I ramble on easily.........let's just end this with thanks, I am glad to be here.
Welcome to the forum pjcanuck. Had a great time in Niagara Falls, Canada side last year. Met more filipinos than here in the UK.
