Good morning to all from Las Vegas Nevada USA My name is Rocky and I am new to this wonderful and informative web site. I have deceided that I will be "retiring" to the Phillipines in a short while. Why the PI you may ask? Well why are you living there? Inexpensive living beaches golf sun the worlds most beautiful woman, I have already had my heart stolen, and an easy laid back lifestyle. I am a retired Navy Veteran,21 years, and have lived there before, in Olongopo. Now I am a Pit Boss in a Las Vegas Casino. It is impossible to retire in the USA at my age to receive Social Security one has to wait until they are 66 to draw its full benefits. I dont want to wait that long. I think when I move there I can purchase a condo or house cash and live comfortably on my Navy Pension. If anyone can give me an idea what I would need for a budget I would appreciate it. Looking foward to hearing from all of you Sincerley Rocky

Hi, Rocky! I used to live in Vegas for almost 10 years. I just moved from Vegas to Florida 2 weeks ago. I think to live in the Philippines you'll be comfortable. It depends on your lifestlye. It's getting expensive now here too but still affordable compared to US. I bought 2 acres oceanfront with 75 coconut trees 3 years ago just outside Dgte for 4.5 million pesos. Less than $100,000. I put a lot of improvements with concrete-high fence and built a modest home. All together about $200,000. If I bought a land as of today, with the house, maybe worth $300,000. Just an estimate. Now, if this property located in the US, it cost a fortune. This, site is really helpful. The expats there helps each other. You will feel at home. Hey, if it's not for you, you can always go back to US.
