    What gives??

    Thats so sad...
Why do they do it, i wonder? Whats the real reason? I mean, i cant believe they LIKE killing. Or do they? Do they think/hard-wired differently than non-islamic people?
I remember someone in phil province telling me that their cousin ran over a chicken on public road. The owner of chicken, a muslim, wanted compensation. The cousin offered to pay double the rate for a full grown chicken at local market. The owner would not be satisfied. HE wanted compensation for the chicken that cousin killed, and also compensation for all the FUTURE generation of chickens that were not born due to the accident and the happiness and joy and hope that the chicken brought to the family. Basically he wanted 10 times the mount.
Is this a FILIPINO way or muslim way? The cousin declined, and the owner threatened to cut coconut trees by the road so taht the trees would form a barrier on the road access. (the cousin was a manager at local trucking company that needs that road access. but it also happens that the company OWNS the land where the chicken was killed, and of course the coconut trees taht the owner was threatening to cut). in the end he paid 10times the amount. The cousin is NOT expat. pure-bred filipino.
So, whats the deal here? WHy do they get extra benefit? WHy they want extra benefit.
p.s. hmmm, i better be careful or i might be the target of their anger... PEACE!!!

You're right, jss, it is traditional Muslim Filipino. It's one of the few common "warnings" given to non-Muslim Filipinos who intend to travel into Muslim areas.

Another "peeve" I heard Muslims have are about being passed (overtaken) on the road. Unless you are a fellow Muslim, or at least speak the language, they take this as an insult.

They (maybe some I should say)) are also known for being traitorous. If you befriended one, always watch your back. You'll never know what gonna happen when you don't. :D
