Bethel Hotel has a terrace at the 5th floor, beautifully landscaped and good news to guests who smoke. During our stay, there were not too many guests in the 5th floor and seemed it was our private terrace. And you can ask for kettle, good news to people who love coffee and tea and surely saves you alot. As what I gathered, 5th floor was just open for service a few months ago. GUYS, if you're planning to stay at Bethel Hotel, ask rooms in the 5th floor.

One foreigner up there on the 5th floor broke a glass door in a drunken rage back in April, got arrested, spent the night in jail, then had to pay for the door before he was tossed out of Bethel.

I took a look at the 5th floor, but didn't see any improvement over where we were at Bethel, so I passed. Seemed too warm as well; maybe cause it was at the top absorbing all that intense heat.

I'd kind think the inner rooms would be the best. Better isolated from street noise.

We're looking at beachfront places to rent for next season. Probably not on Negros though..

    Hmmmm...

Hi... m now in Dumaguete and im staying in Bethel... I have to agree... they're probably cleaner than other hospitals i know... courteous staff... friendly rates... and the ocean view is great...

one thing though... i think they better upgrade their router system for the wifi access... I mean, their wifi is accessible only within the lobby... and the lobby is not suitable for laptop users even...

it may have been compensated if the access reached the area of Cafe Filomena but not even.... well, of course, the most ideal is if it reaches the rooms... after all, i think Bethel has to go with the times... some of those who visits Dumaguete may be transacting business and it is conducive to be on-line in the room rather than a lobby filled with people.

Other than that... i'd give Bethel three (3) stars... 5 being the highest.

We stayed on the 5th floor this year and I noticed that the rooms had CAT5 run to them and jacks for netowrk connections. I also noticed the switch setup by the door to the patio. When I tried to get on the network I could not get any sign of life though in the room. I assume it will be soon that the rooms will be "network aware".
