Are there any decent Jewelry shops in Dumaguete, for gold,Diamond, etc.
I know in Singapore Gold is cheaper, correct me if I am wrong.
Middle east is probably the best place to shop.

Unless you are a diamond expert, I will stay away from buying "diamond" in Duma. For gold jewelry, it seems that the stores have similar prices, give and take a few dollars. I am happy with what I have bought from Danao and Belcina. I also tried going to the pawn shops where I got really good deals.

    Jim,
what you can do is buy the rock on England and have the ring made in DUMA. They can embelish your one rock with small diamonds around it or other semiprecious stones which is the "in thing" nowadays. Their workmanship is excellent. Last time I was in DUMA I brought all my "useless" gold pieces i.e, broken necklaces, pairless earrings. They melted it and made into really good looking brooch.

My accountant tells me...don't buy jewellry in PI...Middle East is best...Dubai, Doha, Bahrain, etc....it's all good and real there...almost zero chance of ripoff.

Gold is generally good Jim in HK...anything else take your chances...Big reputable places are likely safe for gemstones....but the prices will match and may not be such a bargain...Stopover in Dubai if you can instead...nice place and the merchants are good...and honest...
