I was invited for a final Trip of the Outcast and The Dane to Bais and the Trip exeeded my expectation. The guys picked me up in Lipayo at 4:30 am and we drove through little traffic to bais. The weather could not be better and after everything was stored on the boat, we shipped right into the rising sun. The water was crystal clear and flat like a mirror.
It was just so beauty- and peaceful. 1 hour on the water Spider-ann send a Text to the dolphins and a few minutes later we were surrounded by hundrets of them. they were all over the place, jumping, spinning and playing around the boat. After 2 hours whe the sun went higher, they slowed a bit downbut still hundrets of them in sight. Around 11 am we hit the sandbar. There was no sand because of the high tide. So we went for a swim and to get sunburnt. While in the water the boatcrew prepared the BBQ. All Kids know not to swim after a big meal right away and to use sunprotection, so do we, but we did not care and rolled off the boat for another hour to get really red. As we were floating in the sun under blue sky it was amazing to watch the big clouds and heavy rain in the mountains.
At 4 pm we made our way back to the pier and went back home.

    The boatrental was 3.500 php
food and drinks: up to you
going there with a local van 1200 one way

I really can recommend to go there early morning cause the water is calm, the dolphins are more active and the sunrise breathtaking. Also I would suggest to plan it as a whole day including dolphins and sandbar.

as I am not the best photographer I hope The Outcast is adding some more pictures from this amazing daytrip

    cheers

The photos of the Dolphins are awesome. Are they really that near to the boat? What is the boats maximum capacity? Thanks Rhoody for sharing.

    Thank you Gotz,
when you lay on the boat and have a long arm and are very lucky, you can touch them while they play with the boat. We had incredilble waterconditions, and you may not believe If I tell you that my pics are bad compared to those "the outcast" took.

Also have a Lady with a cellphone that she can txt them early enough... hehe
(she hates me for that comment)

I would say the boat has a capacity of 15, but it might be a bit crowded then. 10 persons semms to me a decent number (if you don't have the body shape of the 3 of us).
The price is the same if you go alone or with 10.

I agree Rhoody.10 is just enough capacity for that boat, excluding the crew. Is the lady not with your group? I thought she is a relation? She is too brave to sit by the boat's Bantings(?) while its sailing.Remarkable.Maybe dolphins can received the celphone's frequency. They are pretty intelligent animals right?I hope the Outcast will share his pictures too. Thanks for the info Rhoody.

Very nice pictures rhoody ,reminds me of our dolphin watching too when there, but started off in Manjuyod instead of Bais, and saw the manjuyod dolphins ,lols:wink: .Well ,did try looking into offers in Bais but thought to query the Aroma Resort ,which is less than 10 mins from our place but they have only the 18 capacity boat there ,anyway we took it saving time going to Bais.

18 person capacity boat for 3500 pesos ,sounds cheaper than of Bais
We paid P1,400 for the sand bar cottage for the day.Got this info from the boatman , if to book the cottage straight to the Manjuyud Municipal Hall ,it will only come down to P1,000. Only brought our food,2 helpers helping up sorting the food and the grill.Seem everyone had a nice time ,seeing the dolphins frolicking as close to the boat was a nice experience, and they are not trained dolphins or those in water parks, they are wild ones. Can see a dolphin turning its underside belly up and looked like attaching close its belly to the other dolphin as they swam across in fleeting seconds ,kind of dolphin dirty dancing ,amazing to watch .There was even one dolphin that kept coming so close to the boat , can see its body scars ,must be the leader of the pack or the toughie one or the 'scar face' ,but because of the repeatitive sightings closeby of this particular dolphin ,kids called it sarah though ...sarah the boss ?

Our Boat had the official capacity of 20 passenger, but I would not put 20 on the boat to make the trip great. If you go with 10 on the boat everybody can lay down for a nap. We had plenty of different groups. the scars coming from boat propellers.
I cant say, but we had a dreamday with dreamconditions there, there were many different groups of dolphins, one were at least 100+

Gotz, the txting lady belongs to our group, even more amazing: she usually gets seasick when she watches "finding Nemo":D I don't think they get the cell frequence, but if they are close to the boat loud hand-clapping helps to get them even closer, they get attracted, raise the head out of the water and really look at you while passing by...

    cheers
