    He Joel

What is wrong with you, only complains about someone and scaring people.
You know for the first time you dont have to go that deep say 30 feet can do.
And if you have the skills to dive tell me what can happen.
Why dont you think positif I dont understand this .
If no one try someting nothing will happen and we were still walking around naked.
I hope for you Phillipine diver it will work, I like people who work out their own Ideas..

    Greetings J.diver

    Hi fellow countryman,
I can a bit imagine Joel's reaction since he has previously been attacked on a way we should not do. I don't know Joel but I guess he's a quite experienced diver.
He had remarks to this topic but got an improper attack i.s.o. an answer to his remark.
    See you again in November.

    Dive Sled Test

Today was the day I tested out the dive sled. We got to the beach about 10:00am and proceeded to unload the equipment. I had organized properly and I was in the water about 20 minutes later. As in the past when I did off the beach dives I first carried the Dive Sled to the waters edge and then got the three (3) tanks which I proceed to place on the sled. I then put the first stage on the middle tank and allowed the hose line to unravel by putting it into the water where went with the current. I already have the tow line attached and tied that off to the Municipal Rules Sign to keep the sled from floating away. I then suited up, and then put my mask and then fins on in the water. I started out a little south of the sanctuary and was quickly down about 50 feet and before the end of this dive 71 feet. All was well with the ease of breathing.

I then hit a snag when the sled and air hose got caught up in the sanctuary buoys and I had to surface to free them up. I always used my other sled in open water so never experienced this as an issue and also my other design was built higher with a more rounded bottom and no doubt would have glided over them with ease as well as the hose being high enough off the water to avoid entanglement. I also noticed the stainless connector that enabled me to connect my two 50 foot lengths of hose to come together was leaking slightly despite Teflon on the threads. I guess I will have to take the connectors back to the local manufacturer for retooling. Another issue was lack of enough weight for me. I had forgotten how buoyant a 100 foot air hose becomes (full of air) so next time I will bring more weight. Lastly, as I mentioned briefly before, I found the sled didn’t have enough height or fatness so when I was towing it, it would pull down at the bow to almost being in the water (especially at the severe angles which occur at deeper depths) and this made it difficult to comfortably tow it without much effort as my previous US model.

Nevertheless all these issues are easily correctable and I will be look forward to trying again. I had a great time and my son Joe even tried it (with my supervision of course) in shallower water and was thrilled as this was his first time with a regulator in his mouth underwater. This was the catalyst he needed to now get his certification and looks forward to that.

Hopefully some other divers will show up next time

    Hi PD,
thank you for the report, really sad that I did not make it, but there will be a next time. It was not the best day with fiesta and rock-star meetimg. hehe.
When I loog at the picture I think it is a bit"low in the water. There might be som troubles when it is a bit mor choppy. Even with all safety concerns I still have I really appreciate and respect your effort and hope to be present on the next test-run.

    All the best
    cheers

    Dive Sled Returns

Will be in the water in between the santuariies right in between El Dorado and Pur Vida. DAY & TIME: This Sunday sometime in the later morning given nice weather. So if interested in seeing it in action be there or be square. All those interested are more than welcome to try it out. on the condition they don't strangle themselves in the air hose ha ha ha

This is a modified one of the original. Made by Nigel the Catamaran builder. Heavy bit seems like it will be effective. Holds three tanks and I have two 100' hoses so two at a time is perfect. Planning on taking my son. He tried out in shallow water last time. This time will bring him down a little deeper depending on his comfort level.

Just to explain my comment above....

Divemaster Don posted a picture (which he deleted again after I post the comment). It was the same picture "Melvin" posted in another thread (and also deleted it a view days later).

    Melvin, that was toooooo easy
