    Hello,

My wife and I are currently living in Florida, and have been married since 1982She was born and raised in Dumaguete City., Bunao. Our children and I have I have treasured the many stories that she has told us about growing up there. Although most of her immediate family are in the United States and rasing families, we cheerish the opportunites to visit.

We are planning on a trip in 2009. Although I have never been in Dumaguete. I have been to the Phillipines so many times. Once I'm there I know I'll not want to leave....

While we are there I would like to get some dental work done. I know there are good dentist in Cebu, but what about Dumaguete City? Thanks.

Welcome to this forum. Any good reason way you want your Dentals done here and wait for that untill 2009 ??
I am sure you will find some good dentist here , techniques are somehat the same ( that is for artificial elements) as in the USA . though cheaper ofcourse. Ultracaine is common in use...

    Thanks for the reply,

I need to get a bridge replaced and wanted to get teeth whitening done. with the price comparison to the US who can pass it up. I think the Phillipines have came a long way in there dental standards and practices and is acutally becoming well known as the place to get dental work done while enjoying a nice vacation.

    Re: Introducing Ourselves

    Hi DWY,

I moved to Dumaguete from Sarasota, FL, about 12 months ago and I live in Bunao. Great little Baranguay, though I am sure it has changed a lot since your wife lived here.

There are several excellent dentists in Dumaguete. One with many expatriate patients is Dra. Pinili. It's probably a bit early if you are not coming until 2009, but I can get her address and phone nbr if you want.

    Gary

    Info

Thanks for the info. I certainly would like to get the address and Tel#. Were about year out on our trip but that will go by quick. We're planning on staying at El Dorado Beach Resort.

My wife still has lots of relatives in Bunao. Our daughter, when she was very young went to St Pauls.

I see you lived in florida. ...With it changing like it is, we often discuss moving to DMG also.

Hi dwy, I can vouch you that Dra. Pinili is a very good dentist. She is also my husband's dentist. She did a lot of work on his mouth when we were in Dumaguete last year (August). Infact he is planning again on seeing her for his upper denture. So we'll see about other plans when in Dumaguete. I would like to give you her address and phone number, but I misplaced the receipt with everything in it. Anyway, good luck.

    where is this dentist?
i'm just worried about the hygiene and adherence to sterilisation.
I would preferably strick to the big hospitals in manilla or cebu rather than
    go loaclly here.
The dentist at Siliman seemed ok but the equipment looked like it was from 1970.
There was a good reason for this as it probably was..

I think the dentist in the philippines have made vast improvements in not only there dental treatments but also in sanitary and sterilization. I think there is an ad in the Negros chronical this week looking for highly trained dentist. I dont remember the dentist but she has two offices and is opening a third at Silliman. I know some dentist in Cebu and Manila are now offering vacation while you get your teeth fixed. Cant beat the prices!! compared to the US.
