I was going to shift my vacation dates and share that bottle until you invited everyone and their mother to tag along. :meh:

Go for it. We'll get a stretch pedicab with a mini fridge and drink the bottle between destinations.

No fridge needed as the good stuff is sipped straight at room temp.

Amor Mio was by far the best tequila I've had. I think the "Kah"(?) was pretty good as well, especially considering it was 110 proof. The Cuervo Platino was well, better than Cuervo Silver or Gold (Blagh), but still very drinkable. Have you given Amor Mio a go? If so how does it compare to Los Abuelos?

It is rated quite high on your website. The Amor Mio was brought to me by a real life Mexican, not a tourist, who held it with very high regards. Give it a try.

Obviously people are going to have different preferences. When I tried them I had no idea what was what or what the price of the bottle was, I just knew which one tasted better to me. (And since my experience with tequila at that time was limited to the cheap stuff I was walking into the tasting with some very bad expectations. Had no idea tequila could actually be good.) I prefer smooth liquors, if it has that strong liquor taste that makes you pucker after a sip I want none of it...or, like with Tanduay 5 year, I will have to drown it with a mixer.

And, no offense, but I really don't care what connoisseurs have to say. There is a very good reason why they don't like participating in double-blind taste tests, it tends to, very entertainingly, beat down their preconceived notions with a lead pipe and lead to a lot of crow being served up. What matters to me is what I like, not the price or what someone else tells me is good.

However, I would rate the tequilas I've tasted very similarly to how that website ranks them. Perhaps my preference in tequila matches that of the tequila "connoisseurs"? Obviously I'm not saying Amor Mio is the "best" tequila, just the best tequila I have tasted, IMO.

    Rye,
How can one compare tastes they have never experienced? Tequila can be made by many processes and each way changes the taste of the agave but not the alcohol. A study shows this: https://tastetequila.com/2018/process-matters-in-tequila-production-heres-the-proof/

"Tourist" tequila is often attributed to the bottle the distiller uses. Your choices remind me of this:

I was turned on to Los Abuelos/Fortaleza tequila by this travel blogger. The audio sucks for the first few minutes but still worth a watch.

I don't get all snotty about my alcohol, cigarettes, cigars, women or other vices. If it tastes good and feels good to me then I don't really care how it is packaged or what others think about it, that's the whole point of vices right? And if I think it is good I'll recommend it to others. If you think yours is the best, I'll give that a go as well (with permission of course). Ha.
