Jewish lightning strikes again! Dumaguete urban renewal.

 

The rumor going around is that the fire was started by a group of professional thieves. If the robbers come out empty handed, they will burn the establishment without regard of the consequence. Same thing happened to HVL motor parts in colon st. and Shell pharmacy too. Universal marketing was nearly burn down only that the explosion was heard and the fire extinguished. the culprits however got away. Octagon hardware was robbed by this group using rappeling ropes to climb. Vintage inn was a victim too and also tops and bottoms. well thats from chinese sources.

Reading your quote, i can't believe you are talking about incidents happening in Dumaguete. This is definitely not the Dumaguete I once knew, if your Chinese source is accurate.
I know that there is a certain price to pay for progress. But it should not be of this kind - it is too heavy a price. Although the situation there is i think not yet unmanageable, the authorities and city officials concerned must address this threat to life and property seriously before things become worse.

 

Its really sad and scary but thats what I've heard. I just hope our public officials will do their job. I don't mean to create a negative image about our place but I think people should start to be vigilant about this incidents.

whats worse most it all is that the firemen or firemarshal in dumaguete opens their mouth with out proper evidence, and for a fact i guess they know of only one thing thats causes fire, "faulty electrical wiring" hehehehe

 

The bright side of Dumaguete fires, is that new building will start to rise on its ashes in just couple of months...

Look at last month's fire at Shell, the place will soon have a shopping center.

Am sorry, i beg to disagree with you about the Dumaguete fires having a bright side. I believe that there can never be a bright side for any person, or city when a fire occurs. When a house or building burns down, there would always be an accompanying loss of property, jobs even, and God forbid, lives.
But yeah, to lighten up a gloomy topic, a new and better structure rises up from the ashes and replaces the old one, which is i guess, better for the city and its people.

 

isn't it the quickest way to tear down structures? receive the insurance pay and build new better building.

 

The Judas belts are always hung on the side of the building the squatters occupy.

 

I hope they will mallify the whole area...and I hope they will make it nice. I hope they will build a nice building for the "JFT Center Mall" so that we will really have a beautiful city.

Yeah, the former Rosante's is going along nicely. And according to news reports, there's going to be a Bo's Coffee here in Dumaguete soon. Any idea where they would locate this guys?
