Funny you should mention that. The wife and I ordered the exact same thing just the other day while in Siquijor at the Bellview and they came separate. Not too far apart though. Well they knew from my previous orders I like my fish rare, they call it medium, and the wife has hers normal style. LOL I guess that is why the orders were not quite exact. Nice of them to remember how I like mine cooked.
Will try that next time here in Dumaguete except exactly the same and see what happens.
It's worth a shot anyhow. Thanks

It is a pet peeve of mine, food arriving in a staggered schedule whether at Pasta King or any other establishment in the Phils. That and starters/appetisers arriving with the main dish. Even if you ask to serve the mains 15 mins after the starter someone bungles the order. I’ve even had the starter served 15 minutes after the main.

I’m just resigned to accepting things as they are wherever/if ever I go out. No point in getting undergarments in a bunch here. If anything I’ve found the stay at home, DIY approach works best. Banish the staff or scavenging hordes for an evening (sometimes I feel like an UNRA convoy on legs here), spend a little time searching for the ingredients you want and have a bash at scratching your culinary itch. A bit of practice and sooner or later you get there.

My latest triumph are banana lassis - bought a yoghurt maker and some simple plain live culture in Lee Plaza and we are away. Recreating Goa/Kerala whenever I want. The asawa wants to flog them. The idea of pedalling up and down the boulevard wearing a dhoti on a bicycle with a portable fridge/blender cart sans fruit I think would be off putting to the good citizens of Dumaguete at my stage of decrepitude. I could even get arrested for public indecency. So I’ve put that idea firmly to bed despite her enthusiasm for inflicting healthly options on the public in the name of making a few pesos.

Anyway, it’s a hit n miss thing going on in most places dining out here. Sometimes surprised, always prepared for the inevitable “meh”. Hope things get better at Pasta King soon.

    C

In my first weeks in the Philippines I had the same - til I started to order first "the starters", than the main meal and at lest the dessert!
Never again had problems with the "Philippines schedule", what means "No schedule"!

When I take my family out to dine I am never in a rush, it is a family event. No matter which restaurant I am at, when the starters arrive then the mains are ordered. Applicable anywhere in the Philippines.

    Had exactly the same experience.

Excellent food, lousy service. Long waiting time to place your order,to get your food, drinks and change.

Not really understandable cause the place is not that big, so waiters should be able to do a better job.

It's quite a petty. Food is really not bad. But overall dining experience can be improved.

Anyway, if I want to have a decent Italian meal, I would go again.

I was initially confused by your post - although in no way is it your fault. I saw the heading 'Pasta King' and went to the most recent comment (yours) - I was then thinking how unlike Pasta King that sounds, to have poor service (I find it one of the very best). THEN I realised your reply was about 'Esturya' - it is the problem of a thread starting with one thing and getting corrupted on the way.

NOT that I am devoid of guilt on that matter!

0081E667-533A-4A80-88E3-03ADA0AA5547.jpeg Was introduced to Pesto during a visit to Assisi in Tuscany...it was the first time...I stayed several hours in any Restaurant. This pesto is available at Robinson’s and Hypermart. Italian pasta available at HM and SL. Italian wine, across the street from Bo’s coffee on the Blvd.

I have been to many countries during my military career...my 3 year assignment in Naples...is the most memorable.

According to google maps, it is 30 meters north of tres bistro. Door is in the middle of the front of the building (sideways).

Very small sign, just past Flaming Grill on the left side if travelling north. In a newer building a few stories high. It is on the ground floor. Doesn't open until 4pm, no lunch service. Leaves me out.
