If you do decide on Siquijor, when you go up the road from the peer, turn to your left and start asking people where the GuestHaus is. It's a Pinay and her German husband that run it. Very cheap but nice accomodations. You can actually walk there from the peer. Unless of course you have a lot of money to spend at the Coco Grove. I think it was only 500 or 600 pesos a night for a brand new room. She rents scooters so affordably that after I bombed around the island for about 5 hours the bill was so low that she told me not to even bother paying for it because it wasn't worth the hassle of even doing a business transaction. There's a fairly decent restaurant in town, its a pizza joint actually but has other items on the menu. Of course all your plans depend on weather. If you get rained in and are in any way academically inclined, I actually enjoyed the well stocked Silliman Library...but that's me. If you plan on riding double to Twin Lakes be sure to get a sufficiently powerful bike to get up the very steep road. Don't stop on an upward incline or you will have a tough time getting going again. There are some flat spots where you can stop and look around. I actually thought the ride up was as beautiful as the lakes. Bring a banana for the monkey up there.

^Hi Chuck, we're still torn between doing Twin Lakes and Siquijor on Day 1. We decided to go to Apo Island on Day 2 so we can have the full day to enjoy the island  I had my bf read your replies to my other thread and he said no problem  Maybe later we'll just toss a coin to see if it's Twin Lakes or Siquijor hehehe...

Anyway, for Siquijor, would a day trip do? I don't want to miss out on the DGTE nightlife! We can take the 915am Delta trip and 5:30pm going back. Would you know if Coco Grove or any other resort offers day trip rates?

I just went to Coco's for breakfast after spending the night at a more afordable Guesthause in town. I don't recall being charged any entrance fee, but then again I didn't use anything but their restaurant. I think they have a swimming pool or two but other than that I'm pretty ignorant of the place. They should have a wildly decorated bus with "Cocogrove" splashed all over it waiting for guests when the ferry docks. By the way, I think you can get some Youtube video if I'm not mistaken of Coco's and Siquijor. I find Siquijor fairly boring but some other posters are saying one should go to Larena on the island. It would be a great place to go to meditate. Very quiet. You can do a day trip there no problem. I'd run out of things to do by about 9 AM :>) I'd probably opt for Twin Lakes myself. I hope I didn't scare you with the bike specs. Like I said, just try and get a bigger sized scooter if your riding double.

Glad I saw this thread. Will dolphin watching be possible in mid-January?

Also, if not inexcusably off-thread, I am trying to find out if I can get from Bayawan City to Bais (I presume by Ceres Liner) on Sunday afternoon. The actual date would be Jan 13th. Contact info for the Ceres Liner would work.

    Thanks.

^^Hi Chuck, we've decided (no toss coin needed ) to do Siquijor right after we arrive. We've contacted a tour guide / multicab driver we found in mysiquijor.com for a day tour. It costs P1300. If we still have the energy, we can probably do Twin Lakes on Day 3 since our flight is still in the afternoon. We'll see

Oh and no worries on the bike ride -- my bf drives that kind apparently and I was told it was the type I rode (as a passenger) for 7 hours from Puerto Princesa to El Nido hehe... Thanks
