As my time in Dumaguete is short, I am still searching the best dive spots.
Sumilon was recommended by some people, but Dive society (Eldorado) told me they would not go there anymore because of too much dead coral and lack of fish.
    What is your opinion?
If not Sumilon, then what is best after Apo Island and the Pier?
    Cheers, Liberty

Sumilon is done for good as a coral sanctuary. Dynamite fishing has wrecked the place to oblivion. Silliman Marine Lab has complained about the illegal activity back in the late 70s and dispute with a Cebu township. They abandoned their stationed after in early 1980s, a sad state of reckless fishers.

Apo seem to be okey but its dying too. Too much tourists coming just disturbs the calm waters and global warming will ultimately render it dead under.

I found Dauin to be nice. Sumilon wasn't too bad early this past year for me but since it was my first trip there, I had nothing previous to compare it to. The current was pretty strong though. See Snoopy at Scuba Ventures on Hibbard Ave if you want to go there.
