hehe, as my garden is a big swimmingpool at present, I had no chance to go outside today to check if they are still in town.
I just wonder cause the Rasta-monday in why not should also start again... like the banner at the entrance says... (but that since more than 6 weeks now).... A combination of music, guest from Cebu and the navy mixed with a cold beer could safe one of the worst, depressing mondays I ever saw in Dumaguete.... maybe Jelly was forced out of his lot today and know if they are still here.

I think I have seen them last week-end when I was at Why Not. Some typical short cut young atlethic Americans were sitting there but behaved really very well. So was this maybe a part of the Ruben James sailor men ?
If so...compliment, because I did not notice any misconduct.
Rhoody, It did rain plenty here as well, so I was forced to stay in at my lot. See you guys Saturday.

I remember many, many years back when US Navy ships would dock in Dumaguete for their friendship tours. All of Dumaguete were happy. The bar girls, the bar owners, restaurants, disco houses, etc. Even the city government felt honored by the goodwill gesture. The locals were ecstatic since they were given a chance to board these ships because there was always an open house - no limit to the number of visitors. Of course, there were bar and even street brawls because these sailors could get really rowdy when they were loaded with whatever. After the visits - well there were good and bad memories. No one considered the social ramifications left on the city and its people since these visits were far and between.
But if there is any truth to these rumors that the ship is aiding in the oil exploration in the Tanon strait (no matter how farfetched it may sound, to my opinion), then there will be more visits by this ship and others. This might be when the city government's headaches are going to start...why? as they say in Pilipino - ABANGAN ANG SUSUNOD NA KABANATA!!

Literally big adult men to play with school kids? Does it sound really appropriate , might give diff meanings .I never knew navy men are then trained in amusing children .Seem aren't sensitive with any 'paedophilia' issues .Can't get their real intentions clear of the type of 'kids' or whatever these navy men are really after.Just my dirty mind anyho.

I missed you... I was there on Saturday. The "arguments" where quite late (or early), but a bit the typical thing, drunken sailors and locals, Problems solved by other not so drunken locals and sailors, while the security-guard took care that his supervision-point is in a safe distance... a bit blood here a scratch there, but no real mean fighting like some here on the board...
see you saturday, I still may have a look on thursday to Devlins, maybe some DI members show up and we can talk bad about the absent ones.... hehe

PN, most of the BIG ADULT men working on that ship are 18 - 24, like most soldiers in the world. If they play with 18 year old girls (shipped in from pro-clubs in Cebu) and students, that is quite appropriate. At least they can entertain girls of the same age a bit better and I guess also showing a better performance than the usual 50+year "blue-pill-addicts" hanging around in this enviroments, bars and restaurants. that is not appropriate... we were hanging out with some sailors (like mention before) and had good chat and big fun, more than: Mahal, can you pay pls, call our driver and hand me my crutch....

    cheers

Wow, just think of all that money burning a hole in their pockets?? I'm guessing even a brief 4 day visit will temporarily boost the economy. Too bad the U.S. or other countries navies didn't make Dumaguete a regular stop over. Something like that would really help, although the shady type of people would unfortunately be apart of that too. If nothing else though, it breaks up the routine.
