Hello Website of "Gentle People", I'm the new kid on the block (not so much a kid now though). I read some postings by Dane who was not very happy with the Dentist in Dumaguete (Who ? would like to know the name-'s of who to avoid !!)...I used to visit a Dentist in Manila;the lady took her time and additionally had such a good technique that she did not have to use any anaesthetic to prevent me rising off the chair ! Can anyone please recommend a good one in the city together with contact details who doesn't charge foreigners an arm and a tooth ? Thanks. Plse' feel free to email direct - - galloconnect@hotmail.com
YEs I can reccomend, but I don't have the name and address in my head. I do know there is a big difference here, everything from tooth pullers to state of the art clinics. Have been to silliman clinic, which is mediocre. I had a bad tooth ache one time and was desperately driving around Dumaguete looking for any dentist, luckily I found one with x-ray capability, ultrasonic cleaning equipment, and very reasonable prices. Most importantly their first impulse was not to pull the tooth out. I'll check and get back.
i can recommend Dr. Chui at holy child hospital, and also Dr. Jose Victor "JV" Imbo just in front of holy child hospital(inside Jaydar Pharmacy). Both are very good.
My hubby and I would recommend Dr. Beatrice Pinili at corner of Real St and Asias Pinili St. She's been our dentist for eight years now. Infact my husband just got back from his Dumaguete trip a week ago, brags to friends about how cheap it is over there compared to US. He's very pleased with the quality of work Dr. Pinili has done to his mouth everytime he visits her clinic. Oh yeah, also I've spoken to her secretary when I was there last year, said they have also expat patients, parents with kids sometimes expats with their GF or fiancee.
It's not Dumaguete but she is a great dentist and charges close to local rates. Has a lot of foreigner clients and used to work in the States. It's worth the trip if it's not an emergency. Also recommend "Le Carmen Hotel" right behind Mango Square off General Maxilom. Kinda tucked away but the best hotel I've stayed at for 1150php for a standard. Sorry don't have # on me. I almost hate to mention the hotel cause it seems to get harder and harder to get a reso. Deborah's office is about 5 minutes away in LaHug. Good luck. DR DEBORAH T. GO DENTISTRY 231-5618 369B.
