I'm reserching some flights out of Cebu to Palawan and, while on Cebu Pacific's website, I'm seeing prices like 5 or 6 hundred pesos. There is obviously a catch....at least I hope there is. I wouldn't want to fly on an airplane that funds itself with 10 dollar fares. Can anyone please tell me what is up with these advertised fares ? Thanks.

    Hi chuck,

Cebu Pacific has quite some cheap flights, just go on the online-booking of them. Yousually you have to add the same amount for tax and other charges. If you fly during the week the prices are also better.
Ususllay when I fly from Duma to Manila and back I pay on a Tuesday to Thursday around 2.600 for both flights. There are only limited seats available, but 2 week in advanced and flights during the week are all quite reasonable (unless its x-mas time, chinese new year or public holiday)
The fleet is brandnew (early 2007)
You can pay online with the credit card, they have some Probs with Master-Cards from different contries.

Thanks Rhoody....but 576 pesos is their advertised price return. So I multiply that by 2 for taxes and we are up to about 1100 pesos. That's about $25 U$ dollars !!! Parking at an airport for a few hours would cost more than that here in North America. That's frighteningly cheap !!

Ya well, at their prices, I'm wondering if the guy fixing the planes finished high school. Maybe the whole operation from equipment through to pilots are all made in China. That fare is what I give the pedicab driver for taking me from the Sibulan docks to the Bethel. I'm not joking either, I give them 200 pesos (with luggage) and now that is almost CebuPacific's advertised price (288 one way)for a flight to Palawan. Unbelievable !!

288 is the price normal price for booking in advanced, the next step is 488.
so just book it and print it out. (I guess you may end up around 1250 for one way including all). And if you cant take the flight, you can reschedule it for a reasonable rate too... and if you don't do that and miss it completely, it is not the biggest loss in life

    Hi Chuck,
Select flight schedule, fare you'll gonna see there is exclusive of taxes. To see total fare (inclusive of taxes), you must click "next" command button at the lower-right.

    Thanks

Hi Chuck, the catch is that for the advertised P598 fare, actual cost including taxes is P3340.96. That's still P7K for round-trip, not that cheap after all. While PAL admittedly flies the best planes for domestic flights, Cebu Pac and Air Phil planes are not bad at all. It actually depends on the route you're flying. Of course, they provide better planes for routes servicing the bigger hubs.

    Cebu Air

We fly from Manilla to Dumaguete and back all the time. Extremly low fairs, maybe $55 U.S. The planes are exceptionally nice, and the flight attendants very attractive and attentive.

    I highly recommend Cebu air.

    All the best,

Well I'm glad the flight attendents are "attractive" just in case the investigators mix up our body parts. I don't want to be buried with something ugly.
