We went to Dumaguete last october and i can say Dumaguete is cool; there are lots of beaches. We visit some friends who lives in Bacong and Zamboanguita. Next year we will recolate in Dumaguete. We are planning to rent a house there. Is there somebody who can refer me to a good lawyer? If u know a good lawyer somewhere in Dumaguete pls feel free to email me in rudis_angel@yahoo.com. Thx...

Having a mail address like yours is dangerous hehe...
There are some good lawyers around but it also comes to a personal feeling and common senes. No neeed for a lawyer for a normal house rental...

    cheers

Smurfje, lawyers are best in their own field of specialization... their are those good ones for the good side of the case and there are those good ones for the bad side of the case:wink: ....depends on which side you would want to stay on the case.

There are those who use the subtle way and there are hardcores!!!

I think smurfje is asking for a name, not what to watch out for in looking for an attorney.
Sorry I have no idea who

    RobJ,
as like you say "sorry, I have no Idea"... why are you posting ???`
read the postys first before you answer (like your other posts too, without content, just a waste of server-space)

As it was mentioned before, there are different fields lawyers are good in, as we don't know the issue, we can't say names. Even we would say names it still comes down to the person who has to deal with him.
It's like buying a car. BMW and Mercedes are great cars, the personal taste of the buyer and how comfortable it feels makes the final decision and can't be answerd on a internet board without any further information... He will not buy the car because someone tells him on a internet boeardb BMW is better...

    cheers

    Alright

Prog, being hard core is the way to go--thanks you are right. Part of that of course will be getting a good choice of a lawyer and maybe, smurfje is also right in soliciting for some suggestions--maybe a name. Well, I'd say, ask the questions brewing inside your mind and look for evidence of fair ownership, etc. Ask for the pertinent documents: land title, ownership, any mortgage or other engagements, do some researching--why not go to Hayahay tonight and mingle with members and enthusiasts who may have some info of value to you...takes a little patience besides tolerance. [i'd like to go myself, we'll see if the sked will allow it]. honesty may be hard to find but it can still be found.
