Me And My Husband Are Still In The Middle Of Making A Decision Between, Living Outside The Country Or In Dumaguete?

I Never Been In Dumaguete Yet, But I Can See Lots Of Good Stuffs In This City. . .

We Are Planning To Apply A Visa On January Or So,to Try And See Our Luck For Me To Go To Another Country. But If The Waves In Life Dont Persist, Then I Wanted To Leave In Dumaguete.

I Wanna Ask Opinions And Few Details That We Might Need.

    - How Much Does It Cost For Us To Rent A House That Has .. .
2-3 Bedrooms, A Garden (if Possible), And Maybe Right On The Middle Of Downtown?

And Also, How Much It Will Cost Us If We Just Get A Studio Type Kind Of Home?

And How Much It Will Cost Us If We Just Rent A House That Is Fully Furnished Already?

    - How Much Does It Cost For Us To Buy A New Bed, Sala Set, Stuffs For The Kitchen, Etc.. ?

    - How Much Is The Usual Amount Of Monthly Bills For Electricity, Water, Phone & Internet ? (we Dont Turn Our Computers Off, Unless If Needed)

    - What Business Do You Think Will Be A Hit There In Dumaguete That Will Make Us Earn Atleast 50 Thousand Pesos A Month? Is This Possible? This Is The Amount Of Money We Need Every Month =(

I Myself Is Into Fashion And Arts And My Small Business Has Something To Do With Fashion, And Arts. I Mixed Them Actually. And Its Doing Good.

My Husband Is Planning To Open A Wifi Hotspot Coffee Shop, How Much Do You Think It Will Cost Us To Start This Kind Of Business? Do you think we can earn 50 thousand a month by this? I know its really impossible to earn this much every month here in Philippines, but we just want to know..

And How Much Do You Think It Will Cost Us To Start With Everything? ? ?

I Want To Live Outside The Country, Its For The Best. .. But We Also Have To Prepare Ourselves For Whatever Result May Come. All Of The Stuffs We Want To Know Are All About Finances And Living. . . It Will Be So Nice If You Can Help Us Getting In Our Plans . Please.

    Thanks !

Several months ago there was a post giving very detailed itemized cost of living in dumaguete from water, electricity, beer, cable /broadband connection, running a house etc , unfortunately it is burried under thousands of other messages.

In terms of starting a biz of wifi coffee shop ,silliman has wifi ,bethel has and others. If you do that, you're facing competitions ,returns might be frustrating ,but perhaps you can beat the odds by making your coffee shop biz to stand out more (if you're going into it ) and this can be very challenging ;in good popular location ...but you might be hammered by the rental ,having good gimmick perhaps or services not many are into but which meet the needs or demand,be unique . Also taking note dumaguete has many internet cafes for a variation.P50k/month net, doubt ,or it depends . But don't look seriously into my opinion,i've been long displaced from dgte.If you haven't been to Dgte, then perhaps you need to visit the place and look around if this city meets your online impression .

Quite straight answer, forget any internetcafe if you talk about 50k a month.
In many places internet access is for free already (Mc Donalds, Mikes Adventure Diveshop, Happy Fred) and you have 20+ netcafe's sitting in downtown with cheap hourly rates.
The cost of living depends on your lifestyle, If you run plenty computers you may wanna have Aircon. There are people who pay 20K just for electric, others need 300 Peso a month for electric.
It is possible to earn enough money here with a good business idea, but it is like in each other place in the world. It has to be a unique idea, or something better than the competitors.
The easiest way to become a Peso Milionaire is If you bring five Million Peso and wait untill you have only one Million left...

    cheers

I don't wanna discourage you, just being realistic, and a netcafe is a idea what might have been interesting 5 to 10 years ago. There are plenty of business opportunities in Dumaguete and the Philippines.
You may also find many answers in the expat section of the side

I am assuming you are a filipina? And your husband a foreigner? And you married here in Philippines?
So why do you make it sound like it's a blessing from God for you to live outside Philippines? Doesn't it strike you that your husband came to Philippines because he wants to live in Philippines, and he married to a Filipina, so that he would have a better life in Philippines?
Do you think your husband will consider it a blessing from God also to live outside Philippines?
Sorry if I was being personal. It's just that I hear so often that Filipinas want to live outside the country. Just wondering if your wish was made very clear to your husband BEFORE he fell in love with you.
Oops sorry again for being personal and presumtuous.
I don't know how I would react if my asawa told me she want to live outside Philippines. Probably won't like it one bit.

That's interesting. As an American with a Pinoy fiance, I can relate. My future husband wants to move to the US, or he wants me to move there where he is. He doesn't seem to care either way. But I can certainly understand the difficulty involved, emotionally speaking, with being faced with the decision of leaving your country of origin after marriage. It is not an easy decision to make. Love has to be very strong indeed for this type of relationship to work out.
