⌛ Sacrificial rituals in the Philippines.

I love animals, but I love humans better. I'd rather have friends in the Philippines than make every Filipino who enjoys cockfighting my enemy. That would be all of them. Different culture different rules, how I see it.
But that said I can respect your opinion too.

No one is suggesting that you make enemies RHB. People are allowed to have, and to voice, different opinions without falling out with each other. If that was not the case then we'd have a civil war every time there were general elections. . Geez, one of my own best friends is a butcher!

I don't think cock-fighting is entirely relevant to this thread but since you brought it in, I'll use it ... What you could do is point out to your cock-fighting friends that their past time is cruel and uncaring (tell them that is the view of other people, if it makes you feel any better ).

Different culture, different rules, agreed; but that doesn't make it right.

I agree fully with RHB's reaction, which does NOT say (and I also stated that) that I don't make constructive remarks about it in the hope it slowly will change their minds.

And....I really don't mind if people have a more drastic attitude against sacrifices but drastic attitudes have been resulted so often in even wars.

They have been doing it (cock-fighting) for years. I doubt if these people will listen, it's their sunday thing - church first then it's off to the arena. Talk about double standards eh. "Absolve" themselves and renew their sins right after. Interesting. Oh, and might I mention horse fighting (that's where they put a female horse between two males and they start kicking and biting - gruesome) and dogfighting.

not all pilipinos are ignorant....some just dont know better and also you have to understand our culture we are not the only one whos doing this kind of offering or sacrifice what ever you call it..other countries as well.

Yeah, I appreciate that Charity. I understand it''s not Enigma's opinion and that he's only relaying a story.

I know also it's not a situation that is exclusive to the Phils nor is it all Philippine people that's doing it. In fact I never even mentioned Phils in my reply! I don't care who is doing it, many tribes in my own country do it too - I shout at them too.

Ritual sacrifices, trophy hunting, bear fighting, bull fighting, fox hunting, cock fighting, it's a very long list. In all cases the people involved are cruel and uncaring about the pain they are causing the animals involved.

Some people care about this, others don't. Some people care enough to speak out against it, others don't. You know where I stand. :o
