I have confirmed that the most popular drug for antimalarials, at least in the past, is Chloroquine. The malaria in Palawan is Chloroquine resistant !!! In fact I think all the malaria in the RP is Chloroquine resistant. I hope mefloquine isn't contraindicated for scuba diving.

It is doubtful that I'm going to make it to Palawan. If anyone has a legitimate and provable need for high quality antimalarials, I'd be willing to share my Mefloquine.....or better yet maybe I can donate it to a local hospital if I can be sure it wouldn't be resold or used for profit. I think I have about 18 weeks worth.

I've visited Palawan 3X and enjoyed the rainforest near Sabang. You can hike through the "monkey trail" from Sabang to the underground river/cave or take the touristy boats.
