Rhoody, what are the reason that ur smartest move not to be married according to u? Could it be that u more enjoy the bachelor life with its freedom doing what ever falls you in, or the feeling of being "trapped" for the rest of ur life?

There are some reasons, here is one: I was 10 years together with my last Girlfriend. After 3-4 years wen were talking about getting married. Our jobs just did not allow us to find the right time and we did not wanted it squeeze it in between our work. after 9 years the relationship was a kind of worn out and we decided to go seperate ways. As we had no signature on a paper it was quite easy to do that. Now this girl is my very best friend and we are in good contact. I don't have a bachelor life and are more into long-time relationships (6,10 and 4 years). But if things are not working anymore why should I spend the rest of my life with someone or that someone with me. Better go different ways and finish things in a good way.

Good point there Rhoody, a marriage in Pinas is very hard to undo almost like a no-return-no-exchange policy. The way the "legal" system moves it will take up to 10 years just to annul a marriage. One has to be really, really, really sure what they're getting in to.

Thanks for ur answers Progmeister and Rhoody, I very much appreciate your sincerity in ur answer Rhoody and understand why it was one of ur smartest move. Have a question here at the same theme. I am about to invite my filipina gf on fianceé visa to sweden for three months and her whish is us to be married here in Sweden. What are the rules then? Ít would probably be easier to divorce after a marrieage here in Sweden or?? And will I also after our marriage automatically get a permanent visa in the phils as well? Hoping for somebody to reply this issue.

I agree with you Rhoody, but in Philippines living together without marraige can make a bad image especially for the girl ( because of their culture)

But I think you are lucky you able to stay in Philippines with that long without tied (marraige to a Filipina), its more on your business? to get a permit to stay long there?
