Maybe the DI meeting on coming Friday is a good moment to ask around for some new participants for the jam on the next day (base, keyboard or other instruments).
I can't guarantee if I can be present at Friday's DI meeting (will come back late afternoon from a visit to Guimaras). Will do my very best however.
A bongo player assured me to join us (his second time) on Saturday at Devlin's Restobar.
Hope to see more people this time than on Jan 5th.

Devlin's Happy hour 12 noon until 6pm smb all 25 Peso

Yes I hope that we have more people this coming Saturday January 19th at Devlin’s.
It's a great Venue, if we keep it up and I get your support, we will have somewhere to go other than the boulevard all day long. Yes I have negative reports, but far more positive reports and that’s encouraging. I am working on getting rid of the Negative factors and I will work harder on the positive factors.
But please let’s not a few negative, and sure there was one offensive person in the bar, spoil it for the rest of us. I am not going to allow that unnamed person spoil it for the rest of us, Don't want bad language or unruly behavior from anyone, same as any other decent person.
This is a place for families and not a spit and sawdust bar.
My good reputation is at steak here, that person wont be back unless he behaves.
    I am watching?
Anyway I think I have done more harm than good with this response, but I only wish to assure the patrons that you will have a good and trouble free time at Devlin’s. I even heard a rumor there was a scuffle. That is not true. We have never encountered a fight or altercation in 18 months that I have been open. Someone spreading malicious rumors to tarnish the good name of Devlin’s.. Please all come along. It’s a great place . Announcement folks. Happy hour 12.00 till 6pm everyday 25 Peso all SMB beers until the end of January New recreation facility at Devlin’s ?
Badminton court open next week. Bring your own Ratchets or hire from Devlin’s all day 9am till you can’t see.

the drummer is over his pnemonia, (never could spell it), and will be there.
please lets find a bass player. see you Friday at the meeting.

I think fostering the "jam" idea instead of descrete bands coming to play their own tunes would be nice. I noticed that the Filipino band last time was competent, but they had no interest in joining in a jam session. They had a good bassist by the way. Lets make it a JAM. No one needs to be afraid of sounding bad, we just turn up the volume.

was there, did it, had fun....
the rain at the beginning could not stop us and by 7 we had a nice little crowd in front of the stage, sad enough that the camera decided to stop working, even I gave it some zips of my drink. so no good pictures but good enough to see the fun we had...
a wild combination of instruments and still no bassplayer, turned the classic "green green gras of home" into a Sex Pistols-Punk-Version with Trumpet...but we made the girls dancing:D and the drinks floating.

Andy....hope we have the sound system in good condition next time.
You nearly lost you own tong (by the electric shock from the mic) when singing that rocksong :D
Can you have it arranged before next time so all the lovely girls won't be afraid to come again to the mic to sing with us ?
It was the best session we had so far....and.......enough cold beer !!

Yes I know Jellyfish and I did suffer the consequences for the grounding. Not sure the reason, could be the damp weather? But destroyed one amp. Still trying to sort out sound for Wednesday 23 rd Jan as we have Acoustic band 9 pm Wednesday evening Phillip and Michelle, Great combo. Michelle is something to look at also.

Andy, it is a combination between poor powersupply and no maintanance, Again, get the things out and I will have a look, label stuff and can tell you whats missing.. But as long as EVERYBODY just presses buttons without common sense and pull cables out of Amps and speakers without having any clue what they doing and how the plugs are working, things will not get better...
what is quite sad, cause you could have one of the best stationary sound-systems in Dumaguete !!
