⌛ Philippines SRRV visa

Greetings,

We are considering moving to the Philippines on a SRRV visa. I like to know if there are any members in this forum that have done so and have experiences about this. If you do I like to hear about them, like was it easy, is it the best way to be there, pitfalls etc.

FYI we are both European and open to get whatever visa is best, as long as it is hassle free (if there is such a thing once bureaucrats get involved?). We would like to have the opportunity to continue to work (we would serve some of our clients from there via email).

Anyway open to you tips suggestions or brilliant ideas.

Thanks everybody,

I know all the ins and outs of this visa from the websites etc. I did a search on the forum but found no threads, that is why I posted.

The question is has anybody in the forum got any experience with this visa, living in the country on it, going in and out, renewing it etc.

Or alternatively how to get residence without being married to a local person?

Anybody?

Hi Moving along

I moved to the Philippines at the beginning of July 2006 with the intention of trying out the lifestyle for one year before making a final decision about staying here.

I August 2006 I meet a great person who deals with the Special Resident Retiree Visa and is an accredited agent for the Philippine Retirement Authority.

My concern at the time was the renewal every 2 months of the Tourist Visa and the need to leave the country after a maximum of 12 months before being allowed back in. This all seemed too much effort just to live a quiet simple life here. Anyways ....

Liza (the PRA Agent) guided me through the Pros and Cons of the SRRV and I decided that it fitted perfectly with my situation and would make living here so very much easier. Even if I decided to return to the UK after 12 months the whole process would have been worth it for the ease and peace of mind that the SRRV gives. Liza's guidence and help was invaluable and if you would like her details then just email me.

In September 2007 I went back to the UK and finally cut my ties there and returned to the Philippines and now I consider this country my home. I have travelled extensively throughout the Philippines and often travelled abroad since arriving here in 2006 and thanks to my SRRV everything I do is so very simple and above anything else lawful.

The worst thing here in the Philippines is trying to get ACCURATE and DETAILED information on ANYTHING !!! But thanks to Liza and the SRRV I found that my lifestyle has benefited greatly from getting this Visa

there are many ways to stay here legally without the srrv visa. depends on your goals.

Say more? How besides from marrying a local, what is your secret? And I need a long term solution for that, one that would allow me to continue my business while living in the country.

Thank you for your post, can you say more about her and how she helped you? what was the cost? how did she ease or speed up your imitation process.

Also did you import your goods from the UK? I heard you only have a few months to do so tax free after they grant you your visa.

BTW, where are you from anyway in the UK, we are from Forres.

Last question, how did you or do you deal with your health insurance? do you have a local one? or one of those international private ones? or?
