    hi guys,

i finally made it down there to dumaguete, i like it and try to stay for a while, the night activities are very easy to find, but there is still a lot of day time left i have to find out what to do.

is there any sports activity beside diving, my favorites are table tennis, badmington or tennis, but for all i would need qat least one partner.

If there is somebody who needs a partner just give me a mail or respond here,

    thanks

    Sport activities

There is a tennis court in Motong Road about 2½ km from the city center. You can rent courts here pr. hour, but I have no idea about the price. As for table tennis or badminton, I have no idea also. There are 3 golf courses around Dumaguete as well, if this has your interest.

Finally hiking in the mountains is also an option. Twin Lakes, Casaroro Water Falls etc. Or you can ask somebody to help you arrange a visit to the limestone caves near Mabinay, which is situated in the interior of Negros about 90 km. from Dumaguete.

As for less sporting activities, Tambobo Bay in the south of Negros about 40 km from Dumaguete is definitly worth a visit in my opinion. You could rent a motorcycle and drive down there yourself, then eat lunch at either Antulong Beach Resort or Kookoo`s nest depending on your tastes. The former is a large asian style resort with a nice view and good but slightly expensive filippino food. The latter is a small hangout for mainly european backpackers directly at the beach.

At bit nearer Dumaguete and much closer to the highway, Hans and Nenitas Malatapay Beach Resort is also a nice place to go for a lunch and a swim. They have a nice and white sandy beach there. Finally renting a motorbike and then drive up to Twin Lakes rather than walk all the way from the highway is also an obvious proporsition for all but the most fanatic hikers. Once at the parking spot (about 30-35 km from Dumaguete) you can take a short and easy hike through the jungle to see the second of the two lakes.

Whatever you choose to do, I wish you a happy vacation in Dumaguete!

    Lars
