HELP! I just arrived from Angeles City, where I paid 4p/min for my phone calls to England and the rest of West Europe. I checked here in the one overseas calls shop I could find on Perdices Street, where they quoted me 53p/min (no typing error! more than 10 times as much!!!) When I pointed out to the girl that there must be an error somewhere, as I had paid 4p/min in AC just a couple of days earlier, she had no idea what I was talking about and cut the conversation short stating "53p/min, thats our price". Please help me guys, how can I call England at a decent price?

the both of you shud go online. find a way how to do that. do yahoo messenger and call computer-to-computer... that's 20 pesos per HOUR (hourly rate in internet cafes)!!!:D me and my cuzins in the US always do that. I'll just text them to let them know im online, then both of us logged-in at YM, then we call from computer-to-computer... i cud spend the whole day talking to them.. :D

    HI Tommytnf,
seems Duma gets a constant flow from AC.
Some net-cafe's downtown offer cheaper oversea-calls than you found. Yahoo-voice-calls working also good (if your england contacts have computers). If I call my Mum I usually buy 500 load and call her with my cell from home. Last evening I got 25 minutes for 500 PHP. Sure not the cheapest option, but I have my privacy. How long you gonna stay here?

    cheers

There are other alternatives like MSN messenger & Skype depending on what your contact is using.

    Hello, all

Why don't you try Pwede card.
It's an overseas calling card. Comes in 100pesos or 200pesos denominations. I use 100peso card for calling abroad, and it usually lasts about 40min or so with the 100pesos.
You need to use a landline (a local charge to the phone) to use this call, as using cellfone will add cellfone charges (local) on top of the credit usage on the calling card.
Go find a place that will let you use their landline. It's easy to use.

skype can be useful too. you only need to pay in the bank at arount 10 usd minimum. you can call outside the philippines at around .2 cents per minute abroad. but if you dont want to spend too much money you use yahoo messenger. you try.

    its cool to be kewl!
