Rhoody this is a really good site and you have some great members that i hope to meet up with some day. I guess you will always get a bit of rebel behaviour here as the type of expats that are attracted to Dumaguete have probably had a gutsful of rules and regulations in their home countries.

I checked out the Living in Cebu forum as a comparison. Not only is the site diffficult to negotiate, some of the members there have some very strange ideas about living in the philippines and relationships.

Welcome to Dumaguete, looks like you are new here just like myself. Only 74 days until I visit the area for myself. I agree with you about the LIC forums. They used to be fun but a lot of old posters left and some very antagonistic ones came along. I saw your welcome from, that's typical. Probably never heard of Rugby

where are you from ? yeah I noticed that particular american guy at LIC was making smart arse comments to all new people so when he did it to me I fronted him.

I envy you going to the Phils in a couple of months. I'm stuck in Perth with son completing final year at high school so can't escape until late November.

actually, I need to say thanks to all of you guys. I got some great PM's from "just-reading_members, who went into the same direction of those posted ones from you guys in different threads. I think we have a great and fun community here, who also can discuss serious. I wanna keep it like that.

Anyway, we all have different reasons why we are here in the PI, one we should have all together is .... Having fun !!!

Rhoody, I would like to add my thanks for the job you are doing here also. I too was on the LIC forum and took myself out because the idiots they were letting post on there. This site is exactly what I was looking for, a place to share about life in the Philippines. My wife and I plan on moving to Siquijor in a couple of years and I want to learn more about the Philippines. I have been to the PI many times over the course of many years and have stayed there for extended periods but never "lived" there permanately.

I see there is a new thread on building houses, that is great as that is where my interests lie.
