⌛ Time for new Introductions.

I love the idea of the introductions,makes everyone seem more human somehow. So here goes. Dreamer is Elaine married to Rob both Brits although we have lived in Hong Kong for the last 22 years so we are definately more Asian in our ways. For the past 15 years we have traveled throughout the Philippines because of our work and it was always my dream that we could eventually live here.
I seem to be in the minority here because I am a mature English lady? Rob has just reached 60 and I am not far behind. We have been married to each other for 39 years and still think we are on to a good thing.
We have three kids.
Eldest son married a girl from Nebraska and they work up in Zambales. Second son married a girl from Quezon Province and they live in Hong Kong.
Daughter married an American and they live in Sibulan. They have a beautiful 8 month old daughter born in Dumaguete.

We both still work with Christian NGO's in the Philippines taking care of their people and get to travel extensively from the south of Mindanao up to Northern Luzon. We love our work and hope to be able to continue for a few more years.
Our daughter in law has just bought a lot for us a little to the north of Sibulan So we are now starting the process of looking at house designs and listening to all the advise we can get. All ears if any of you can share anything helpful. I love just browsing this web site I don't get to post much but I sure have learnt a lot.
Why settle in this area? We have been looking around the Philippines for many years and couldn't find any where better ! We have been here a year now and it has just flown by.
To relax we love to ; eat, wander down the coast, stop a while and look at the view, sit on a beach, drink a cold beer or glass of wine, eat some more, walk, talk, just be happy.
Hope to get chance to meet some more of you some day.

Well, I guess its time for US too introduce ourselves.
I'm Chris born in Spokane, I spent 30 years in Austin, Texas (which I meet my 1st wife, now divorce). I'm almost 55 this coming May. I have 2 sons now all grown up and 3 great grand kids.
I was working before in MOTOROLA as software processor but now I'm retired. My interest is scuba diving, reading books, meet friends around in DGTE and explore the beautiful Phil except ARM Regions of Mindanao.
I meet Ana Last 2 years ago shes 40yrs old who lives in Davao (currently). Own some businesses in Davao. And been visiting her 3x's last year. And Finally were moving this coming April in DGTE and staying for good (still no house to find hahahhaha got it first but somethings came up but were still working on it).
I'm Coming back HOME this coming Feb 17 in Davao to finalized everything before summer.
Maybe everybody wondering why were moving in DGTE. We both agreed to choose this Place to the fact that this place is the BEST for US. We been searching and looking for a good place that we both agreed and now Finally choose DGTE.

Some very interesting posts in this thread. Amazing group of people. We are Charles and Erlinda 'Garbonzo'. Been married almost thirty years and Linda grew up in La Carlota, near Bacolod. I was born in Germany but we left when I was a toddler...almost thirty years agoLinda had the bad luck to apply for job at an airline I was working for at the time.....didn't get the job...but got the reviewer...

Now we live in Perth down in Western Australia. Linda has been working for the Catholic church for many years, taking care of retired nuns mostly, and has almost finished her nursing course to add to the degrees she already has. I work at a local university where we do environmental studies....

Three kids. One a U.S. Marine Corps officer, just returned from the gulf a couple weeks ago. Daughter is a medical scientist and doing well with her viral work. Another son in university doing economics.

We have a lot in a nice Bacolod subdivision....have a few more years of work and saving, less is better - and then calling it a day and moving to Negros where her great extended (and successful) family is. We intend to spend a lot of time in Dumaguete area as well, usually weekends, to cater to my diving and our hiking.

Our mutual hobbies are gardening, antiques, travelling. But I prefer diving, getting pissed, fishing, Aussie stock market,....etc...

Have done some research on were to go from were i am now. Witch road should i chose?
I have staid in Thailand now for 3 years and liked it very much but sense the government have changed the roles i no longer fulfill their requirements.
When i was 41 i had the fortune to throw in the towel in the working department, and i took it!
I'm 47 yo now and for the last three years i have been on the road mainly in Thailand.
In my researching i have found The Philippines. For not so long ago i only now Philippines by its name and nothing els. Now, thanks to the Internet, i naw now a lot more!
Thanks to the dumagueteinfo.com, i think i have a good guess witch road i will chose and were I'm gonna get me a new life....
I'm a rather big man, (193 and 110 kg) so i think the climate up in the mountains (Valencia) will suite me youst fine!
Play golf and by me a Ping-Pong table to play on in my cool garden and sink down some SM in between!

Location: i work in manila, i'm in dumaguete on my days-off (quiet busy, huh) sometimes, i'm somewhere else.

*Graduated silliman in 1997. hence the name, su babe.
Hobbies: i used to love hiking the forest of mt talinis, casaroro falls... but now, with kids, no time for that. you can ask me some questions bout hiking though. i hope i can remember something

Anyway, i love this forum and this website. this is the first in dgte.

Male, born and raised in Dumaguete. Been with Silliman since 3 years old however I graduated from ACSAT (long story) with my degree in Computer Science. Almost 4 years working now in Dumaguete.

Hobbies: backpacking, mountain biking, photography, travelling, computers/internet, airsoft, books, blah blah blah SMB :D
