hello to people of dumaguete. crime rate is high in dumaguete now. i was parking my car along silliman avenue, fronting el amigo.

while we went to coco amigos to grab a snack, for like 40 minutes... when we get back to the car, my overnight bag was missing already!!! that fast!!! in around 2pm!!! my gosh... so guys, watch out if your parking in that area!!! actually, the whole stretch of silliman avenue is a haven for robbers... i've heard a lot of cases also, like broken windows... so please, PNP, put some guys over that area ok?!!!

so guys, dont leave anything valuable in your car... even my takeout from jollibee was missing!!! grrrrr!!! and this is du-mah-gue-teh...

    Thank you SU babe
for the information, I actually heard a similar story also happened around 1pm in the afternoon. I don't think that we can generalize. Just in my personal experience, I hear more stories like that then ever before. I hope it is only in my mind and not reality.

Anyway, thanks again and welcome to DumagueteInfo

    cheers

    Rhoody

oh, not a surprising thing to happen in dumaguete....there are thieves everywhere....a friend told me the day after a fiesta celebration, she went outside and found that the lids of her pots and pans were gone!!! well, just the lids because she filled these containers with water to soak overnight to make for easier scrubbing and cleaning, and obviously the thief couldn't take more than he can carry. but even if they were just the lids, they can be sold per kilo as they were stainless steel, i was told! COPS??? THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING WITH THE JUNKSHOPS WHO BUY STOLEN SCRAP MATERIALS....I DON'T BELIEVE IN COPS ANYMORE............

sometimes, we fail to exercise caution on our part. maybe the bag was clearly visible and presented an opportunity. if i had something important i couldn't bring, the trunk would be a safer option. that should take them a longer time if they decide to continue. in most cases, if it's not that easy, they'd rather find another easier target.

but maybe it was the food they were after, the bag could just be the lucky treat. kidding aside, park your vehicles in places where there is foot traffic. sorry about your loss.

OK a little puzzled by the Jollibee take out left in the car while you went to Coco Amigos for a snack?
    Anyone else wonder about that?
Sorry you got robbed, hide your stuff or take bags with you is great advice.

    WoW!

Is that so, when it is suppose to be a place for gentle people? I should take note of that. Family of my dear friend lives here.

it's still a city of gentle people, you just have to be more careful nowadays though. these thieves are the rotten tomatoes that destroy the good image of the city. there's never a cop around when you need one.

but in fairness to the cops, they can't be visible at all places. these thieves apparently are smarter and know what, when and where to steal.
