I've ran around town collecting estimates for repairing a scratch that covers 3 panels. The estimates range from P10.5k to P12.5.

The price is reasonable since 3 panels need to be repainted. I have received quotes from Scud's (P12k), ECL Garage (P12.5k), MGI (P10.5k) and Bman's (P11.5k).

I am leaning towards Bman's since they appear to have the proper equipment and clean room but I've heard good things about MGI and ECL.

Does anyone here have any experience with these businesses and can make a recommendation? I'm not really worried about the price difference, just want the best work.

I personally recommend Scuds. They painted damage to my car twice and I was really impressed with the job they did and the price. I have never used any of the other businesses.

I was concerned with them being right next to a major road and all the dust that gets kicked up. Without a clean room surely dust would get in the paint.

I also thought that the first time. Especially as the whole yard is full of vehicles. They didn’t seem to have a dedicated spray booth.
They seem to manage somehow to keep the dust out of the paint.

I don't know of these businesses you got estimates from however I do know this industry very well.

You want someone that has a oven if possible and also someone that uses baked enamel.
If they paint it in acrylic you got no chance of a good job or colour match.

If you have websites or some photos of the equipment post it.

Brand of paint would help too.

My choice would be a dealer run shop.

Also if the shop is neat and tidy you got a better chance.

Just looked them up on Facebook...man they have some sh!t ways of doing painting.... extremally dodgy.

This work is rubbish, I have been in workshops in the Philippines and employed guys in this trade, seen a lot better than this.

Make sure they remove parts when doing the painting, these photos they are masking up bumpers, lights etc. Ask them to remove parts and not mask up. You will have issues later with delamination.

Plus body filler over paint is poor work.

B'man was the only body shop I saw that had one of these. Not saying the others didn't, just that it wasn't out in the open for customers to see. This is why I'm leaning towards this place.

This looks like pretty standard practice in Dumaguete...but which company was this?

Was ECL or MGI on the FB page.

Ask Bman what paint they use, or if you like I can message them for you.

They do look like the pic of the bunch

Also what car have you got, year/model

(I'm assuming, from the note on my windshield along with the key taken down the side of my car, that someone didn't appreciate where I parked. Pretty cowardly and I have taken note of where the most likely culprit lives.)
