    I don't know.
Above the 7/11 in Valencia where the old Spice Restaurant was there is a New Mexican Restaurant just opened last Saturday, they have some form of live Music on a Sat and Wed, I cannot imagine it is of a size to accommodate that?
I have not tried it yet but the recommendation come from a Pinay who is not a bad cook herself.

It may be called "Beth's Kitchen". The place is plenty big enough for a 2-4 person band.

I guess I used the wrong choice of words and should have given a full explanation of what I was thinking, what I should have said is; this place is far too small and if I remember correctly enclosed on all 4 sides each side being a hard surface then with a tiled floor, this is not acoustically suitable for just about any form of live music, other than one man and his Guitar playing at a low volume level? Filipinos have only one setting on the volume control, FULL ON! What a cacophony of sound that would be a 4 piece live Band, who would want to sit and eat in this small place with that going on, no so many I would think?

So I tried Beth's Kitchen last night, it was not too bad but the service was very slow the table next to us had been served before us, there was 5 people at this table with 4 different meals being served to them, between the first and the last meal was around 25mins by the time ours arrived 45 minutes had passed since we put in our order, now I am not the best judge of Mexican food coming from the land of Haggis and Haddock not too many Mexicans around these parts, however what we had was tasty and I would suggest a tad better than Pacos Tacos and not that more expensive I think? but the portions are not quite as filling at PT's, a very cold beer is P60 a breakfast English or American plus some Mexican choices is around P220, a Burger and Fries is only P185.

Overall I would say this is a new venture for them and it is unlikely they have done this before, they have AC in the dining area set at 21C, far too cold in my opinion and likely they will change this when they get their first electric bill? when my wife sat down she nearly jumped out of skin the seats are metal and really cold she said it was like sitting on a bag of ice, however this may have an advantage if you take your SO there? it will give you something cool to slip into when you get home, as I suggested before this is not a place for live music, it is about 80M2 every wall has glass in it, the front wall having windows the full length, the ceilings are only 9ft high, Sat and Wed are live Music nights, best avoided on these nights. I would say it is likely they will give that up before too long?

I should mention that a friend of mine a US guy was leaving as I entered or maybe it was because I entered? he said in the passing that he enjoyed the food but it was nothing like the usual standard in the US, which he suggested is very high and consistent no matter where you go there.

They have only been open for a week and things can only get better, so I will give it another go in a couple of weeks time.

I had lunch there today (menu says Taqueria). I am from Southern California so I will not make comparisons, but I would go back. I had Huevos Rancheros for p175 and an enchilada special. I was full on the Huevos, which I enjoyed, and took the enchilada home for lunch tomorrow. My filipino helper had a beef tapas Pork Tocino rice dish p210 and gave it an 8 rating (out of 10).

So today I had the take out enchilada special from yesterday. I give it an 8, and if it had a spicy sauce on top (like the green one I use to have at Tommy's) I would give a 9, assuming I liked the sauce. With the special, there was a choice of cabbage or ground beef. I took the ground beef. Not sure what it cost, maybe p280.

We ate there (Beth's Kitchen) above the 7-11 yesterday lunchtime...2 of us had the tacos which were delicious and our companion a Scot had the English breakfast (available all day) which included 2 eggs, bacon, sausage and baked beans and judging by the speed he scoofed it down it was real tasty.
    We will definitely return.

Did you have to pay for your Scottish friends breakfast ??
They have a reputation for not paying.

The breakfast sounds good, but was the bacon burnt to the point of disintegrating and flying across the table in pieces at first touch, as seems to be the norm here?
