I am a little confused. Do you need a house for 5 people or a studio apartment or both?

I would suggest that you look on a search engine such as google. type in house or apartment rentals in Dumaguete. This should give you a start.

    Welcome on the forum Mackriz.
If you are a bit more specific on where you want to stay (e.g.:IN Dumaguete city or in a more quit area outside, or...
    Then it's easier to react.
BTW in case you are intested to stay a while outside Dumaguete while searching for a definitive place we can offer you a big bungalow at the seaside in Maluay. Fully furnitured, 2 dubbel bedrooms with each toilet and shower, living room with open kitchen and a beautifull view on Apo Island ! Send me a PM if interested and needing more info.

The several real estate companies in Dumaguete list a variety of living options in the way of houses and apts. If you do not need to pre arrange something before arriving, you can do better doing a search own your own once here. Mant apts are available as you describe ranging from 10k to 15 K, depending on location and accoutrements. some are completely furnished for example.

thanks for the warm welcome guys. sorry if my post is a bit confusing, i'm looking for a cheaper place to stay which is good for at least 5 person. It's ok if its a studio type apartment for the meantime but I would prefer a 2 storey, 2 bedroom apartment. Preferably within dumaguete city or at least a couple of minutes away from the city. Im not looking for a fully furnished house.just please give me ideas for the rates preferably 4-7 thousand per month.

    Hi Mackriz and welcome aboard!

You don’t tell us very much about yourself and the resources you have available to you already in your quest for accommodation in Dumaguete. Having someone on the ground who can assist you always makes a big difference.

You should also consider the audience which you are addressing here. It consists to a large degree of expatriates. Most have a higher disposable income than that available to the native population. Whether they admit it or not, their tastes are somewhat different also. The expatriate community has a tendency to live at a Distance from the city. They are frequently found in what are, to all intents and purposes, gated communities. Is this is your preference as well? If so, you’ll need to add in an additional expense for your commuting requirements.

I can only relate a little of my own recent experience. I was fortunate to have a fiancé living elsewhere on Negros. She also had excellent contacts within the Dumaguete community. It is likely that my willingness to pay more and accept less challenged her to do better. She succeeded in spades!

The suggestion to do a Google search is a good one. I would modify it somewhat by stating that you should use the Filipino version of Google. It’s URL follows:

    Google

It will be worth your while to select the option at the lower right of searching for pages which originate within the Philippines itself.

My fiancée and I were able to secure a new two-bedroom, two story, rental accommodation at the upper end of the price range you propose. In 20:20 hindsight, I believe that we were quite fortunate in being able to do so. We are within easy walking distance of all points in the city and yet comfortably located on its outskirts.

Do not forget that additional expenses such as telephone, cable, an internet connection, electricity, LPG and water are frequently additional to the rent and mount up quickly. Your proposed seven K. can quickly become close to 11 – 12 K. with no difficulty.

If you do not have someone on the ground to be searching for you, I would second the recommendation that you consider temporary accommodation while completing your more detailed search for your own “right” place.

Good luck! Maybe we you will get a chance to compare notes after I return to Dumaguete later this year.
