    Hi Guys & Gals,

Can you enter the Philippines with one way airline tickets if you are an ofw?

    Thanks-Kenneth

    Gosh

This is confusing. Feels like a chat room, yet I can see no other name. OK OK, no more whining. What's the best way to find long-term (six months) accommodation in the area of Dumaguete? Like a funsished house or condo or suite? Like for less than 15,000 p. a month? It would be for October of this year (2008).

You could be asked to produce either a return ticket or proof of onward transportation. I assume your mention of an OFW refers to a returning Filipino. If that person is returning to his/her residence in the Fils - there shouldn't be a problem, no?

Thanks davfitz, you are probably right, I just can't remember since I was there in 2000. Seems like customs stamped our passports with a one year balikbayan stamp without asking any questions.

Okay, I got refused checkin at Hong Kong airport because only had oneway
ticket to Cebu, they made me buy return ticket at much inflated price of £100
    with Cebu Pacific.

I had Balikbayan privileges, that means I can enter the Philippines with my wife
for 12 months with out extensions, I had all the relevant papers, marriage
certificate, valid passport etc. if I wanted I can stay with my wife up to
    two years, with extensions.

    Jim.

Thanks jimeve, I hate to buy a round trip ticket and then cash in the unused portion but no choice I guess

There are some other threads about the "one way ticket-situation". (one of it here)You need a proof to leave the country, this could be a confirmation mail for a cheap ferry ticket Malaysia.

    cheers
