The time finally came when i had to get a new phone, my old phone is a Huawei which i bought in July 2019 so i got my monies worth out of that one, it still works but one by one certain functions are not working so i though i better act before the complete shutdown. I was going to buy another Huawei but the problem is that google recently stopped allowing playstore to be installed on huawei phones so i cannot get the apps i need for my UK banking and credit card. I decided on a samsung phone with playstore already installed, then comes another problem the apps i need are not available in this region so it worked out cheaper to install a vpn app than fly back to the UK, then the problem of registering for these apps, it's not possible to just log in you have to go through a whole process because it's a new device. Just as well i am retired as this is a very time and patience consuming task. Does anyone else think that life is too short for this sh1te
I agree life is too short for all that nonsense. I have never owned a cell phone and certainly never will. I use multiple laptops, some with VPN and still only run windows 7 Pro on my Laptop I do banking on. I know that about everyone use's a cell now a days, but it's just not something I desire to waste 1 moment on or 2 Centavo's.
Besides the issue you were facing that Google Play store is no longer available on Huawei, mind you that Huawei phones are loaded with all kind of hidden spyware, of which also private information gathered Huawei is forced to provide to the Chinese government. I for myself also bought a Huawei in 2019 and it crashed last year Ocotbober. Did not do any effort to get it fixed. Now happy (what's in a name) with a Samsung Galaxy. Did not encounter any problems with no matter what app to get installed. Looks like UK is more complicated, so extension of life is very much required and granted as far as I am concerned.
I've been using my wife's ex (that's her ex Huawei phone, not her 'ex') for three years. I had best take action before it dies, judging by these posts. She's been after an upgrade, so maybe I can get my hands on her Samsung.
I had the same problem with my new Samsung tablet. It's a difficult task to change your region in play-store but doable. I needed help from google, now I can put Philippines apps on my tablet.
