⌛ Anything better than dial up avail. in Dgte?

bayantel is actually above the western union/rcpi office, beside a small shoe store, forgot the name.

 

I read on some sites that PLDT broadband is available others say it is not, is there PLDT high speed available in the area?

 

I think they could be referring to Smart Bro...which is available though in dgte

 

I called skycable and they said that they would get back to me. Nope! I wento to Smart and they said that they dont service upper motong area. I will try banyantel. I am using my globe huawei roam on my laptop right now.

I heard that globe has internet but, it is very inconsistent in its service.

Can anyone tell me about bayantell and globe internet services please?

 

The three major carriers are all available in Dumaguete. They provide a variety of features and are priced accordingly. Some packages combine with telephone service. Each has its proponents and detractors.

I'm on Globe, which works as well as anything out in the wilderness (Je! Je! Just kidding, Anne) of the Colon extension. Most of the infrequent problems encountered are fixed by re-setting the modem or waiting to the start of the next business day when Globe seems to address whatever the issue might be.

I use this service daily for SKYPE calls supporting both voice and webcam between Ottawa and Dumaguete and consider it adequate and a good value (@ 1K pesos/mo) for money paid.

 

I tried Globe and the lady said that I was out of the service area. That was about 15 minutes after her diatribe nonsense. Anyway, I went to Bayantel but, they are only in Dumaguete center? or the downtown area. I also went to skycable and they came out that same day and hooked up my cable internet. Modem is supposed to be coming today. 1MBp! Smart said that they do not cover my area either unless I got a signal antenna or some sort of device. I will let you know how skycable works out for me.

 

can you give us any details of the sky cable deal. do they have different speeds is 1mb standard, how much is it, do they cover the whole area with internet?
