RHB,don't think i'm stalking you :D ha-ha-ha...it just happened that i just finished replying to ur post and ventured to another forum when i read this thread...
well yes, believe it or not, cervesa negra is already my favorite back then when i was in high school, w/c my friends frowned upon because of it's bitter taste.
now that i'm here in japan, i substitute it by ordering black and black...i don't really know what the real brand is. but i think it's a german beer, and since it's black, they just call it black and black in their menu...if it's too bitter for you, u cld ask for a half and half though.:D
honeycomb also serves cervesa negra before, i jst don't know if they still do. cheers!!

The mango shakes at South Seas Resort were scrumptious. We tried the mango shakes at Jo's and, while tasty, they didn't quite match up.

The only drawback to the South Seas shakes was that we would order a few and already double our total meal bill :( Still, if you're in the area you have to stop in and try one. I haven't had one in three years, but I'll assume the recipe is the same.

We actually just had the standard yellow/orange mango shake, but I'm sure the green shake is quite tasty as well!

A large part of enjoying the shake was sitting in the open-air restaurant...feeling the breeze and listening to the waves crash (though I don't seem to recall seeing a lot of waves, so maybe I made up that part  )

hi kuya!! :D i cldn't confirm either if there were any waves crashing scene during my visits, cause i was always too busy chatting w/ my dear old friends while enjoying the food. but that proves that u really enjoyed the atmosphere of Southseas ..the kinilaw was nice too...hmmm!!:p
just wondering why Southseas was not included on the list of Hotels in Dgte?

I just remember wandering over to the restaurant our first night at South Seas, pleasantly surprised that it was indeed a restaurant and was still serving food! Does it ever close?

One of the nights we were there they had a special buffet set up in another open-air structure. It's the one over by the pool. The place we ate all other times was at the north end of the grounds.

Anyway, I have great memories of the place
