Hi.. I'm new to this forum. I live in Pampanga, Angeles City from Las Vegas Nv.USA.Retired, single.
I am planning to visit Dumaguete in April and know very little about it. I am seeking to relocate to BEACH AREA permanently. Was recommended to DGTE and DAVAO.
Need tips on where to stay in DGTE. Best location and affordable..Both for hotels for 5-6 nights and possible aprtment rentals for long term.Again affordable. On fixed income.
Also appreciate info re. Nightlife, restaurants and just general "GOOD TO KNOW" info.re "LIVING IN DUMAGUETE"
Love the beach and ocean if clean and safe.
Have auto now. Do i need it there? Can I take it there if relocate? Should I do that? Rather not.Gas almost $5 a gallon..ETC. ETC.
Own my own furniture now which I like, can I take it there? Should I? Cost?
    MEDICAL..SHOPPING..COMPANIONSHIP..OTHER FOREIGHNERS..WEATHER "RAINY SEASON"?..POLLUTION..CROWDS..TRAFFIC..
    ALL REPLIES GREATLY APPRECIATED..

    HI Giorgio,

welcome to DI. Most of your questions are somewhere answered on Dumagueteinfo.com (the mainpage and the board). Life in Duma is way simpler than in AC and if a few beers in the evening and some ok food is ok for you it will be great. Don't look for anything like AC. There is no Bretto's or C'Italian here.

Rooms and Hotels are avialable for each wallet. Cozy beach resorts or simple guesthouses. Big Villas or cheap appartments (furnished/unfurnished).

Come to Duma and look around, many first numbers you hear are way overpriced, as soon as they recognize you know something about the PI and even life here already things can change quite fast unless the landlord has the money and time to wait and "rip off" another foreigner.

When are you coming down to Duma? Always happy to have a cold one or two.

    cheers

    Rhoody

Hi, you can PM me if your interested. Let me know the details. Thanks

I can provide options for you if your interested. Send me a PM.

I believe you can bring your auto, much easier to get around..

Some rentals are already furnished, but if you'll decide to bring all your furnitures, much better and the rental price will be cheaper. Disadvantage is, the cost of shipping of your things. Im not sure, but a foreinger friend of ours, currently living in cebu, and is planning to relocate here in Dumaguete, was given a costing from Matio of Php 25,000  , and believes he's been gouged. Hmmm.. I dunno  . But we're still looking for other cheaper options to help him out. Hope I can post updates soon regarding cheaper options on shipping personal stuff.

No problem at all. hehe!

    Good day!
