⌛ Do EU cell or mobile phones work in the Philippines? + pay-as-you-go?

Does anybody know if my European mobile phone will work in the Philippines?

Could I get a pay as you go local sim and prepaid? Any recommendations as to what is good , works all over the Philippines and is cheapest?

if your cellphone is unlocked and uses a sim card, it should work with any network in the philippines. most of the mobile numbers uses prepaid load. loading centers are available thoughout dumaguete. you may go to GCPLUS at SILLIMAN cafeteria. it sells prepaid cards and sim cards that you can pop into your open line or unlocked mobile phones. gcplus number is +639213299009 in case you have questions. thanks

 

local sim-cards are available as soon you step out of any airport in the PI. smart or Globe are the companies to go for. SIM available for 50 peso. for 500 peso prepaid you can call Europe almost half an hour. I guess in Dumaguete there are at least 50 places for buying SIM cards and 2000 for buying "load".

There is no special place I could recommend and also no reason to go to a special outlet. Just try to avoid "e-load" for different reasons...
