    Hello Inday!

actually, if you read around, you could find the options as to how you could go to Dumaguete from Cebu..

the best option, for me, is to do the landtrip, since i like traveling by day.. either by bus (Ceres) or v-hire. if you want to take the bus, go to the south bus terminal, if you prefer v-hire then go to Citilink. but taking the v-hire gets you to Dumuguete quicker.. around 2 & 1/2 hr ride to the Lilo-an port in Santander. depends though on what time you travel, of course with all the traffic on rush hours. from Lilo-an, you take a pumpboat that takes you to the Sibulan port (about 30mins the most), then from there take an "easyride" (multicab jeepney) to Dumaguete City.

if kulang pa ang info, you may want to read the other threads about this..

    enjoy your Dumaguete trip!
    :-)

great detailed info... thank you Andie, how about the other way around, and a estimated price, as I need to go there next week...
I know the ferry way and never tried the car-ferry-car option. If I take the midnight ferry from here, I am at 6-ish in Cebu (have the full day time to do the things I need) and it is a ok trip, but I am happy to hear your local expierience....

    cheers

well, from the Sibulan port you can take the either the fast ferry or the pumpboat to the Liloan port. around PhP45.00 for that 30-minute ride accross the sea. the first trip departs 6am, they leave every hour, last trip is 5pm.

if you want to take the bus, take the fast ferry. the A/C bus ride to Cebu city costs PhP149.00, for about 4hrs ride. the v-hire costs PhP120.00 and could take you 3hrs to get to the city. so if you leave Sibulan at 6am, you should already be in Cebu city around 9am.

OR you may also take the Ceres bus that goes directly from Dumaguete city to Cebu city, which takes about 5hrs, but i dont know exactly when the departure times are, as to how much it costs -- should be around PhP250 with the ferry fare.

but you might just prefer taking that boat which leaves midnight there so you could rest during the trip.

    Bon Voyage, Rhoody!

    :D

Hi, i did the ceres bus ride a couple of times last year... and i think if remember rightly it was around 350 all in. It was a great ride reminded me of a fair ground ride a bit of a nail biter at times!

its a bit less than 300 (but like always no change so 300), 240 Ceres and 60 for the ferry

We went to Cebu on saturday. We got on the fast craft at Sibulan at 10 am, we checked into our hotel in the uptown district in Lahug at 1:45. Total cost each, EZ ride to Sibulan p 18, ferry P45, bus P149, jeepney p12.

We never take the bus from Dmgt to Cebu, we always go to Sibulan and cross using the fast craft, there is always an AC bus waiting on the other side ready to go. It saves time and money.

    Your mileage may vary.
