Welcome md, hope your able to share some of your life experiences. how do you and most of the people you know feel about the expat population in general? What do you think the most important thing an expat can do to help be apart of the community? There are a couple questions to start things off, and I'm sure I'll have more as time goes on, but I think others may join in with questions also. Again, welcome and i look forward to reading your posts.

    Sincerely,

    Tom

    Dumaguete/Valencia/Twin Lakes Day Tour

    Hello!

My friends and I are planning to have a day tour around Dumaguete and in the nearby towns to see the falls and the Twin Lakes. Do you know of anyone in Dumaguete or Sibulan that we can ask that has a v-hire or day tour package?

    Thanks so much! =D

My recommendation in the City is Hotel Palwa,
Coco Grande is also a nice Place. If you are interested in City tours, you can make almost anything by foot and trike. If you can drive a scooter you can rent them for 200 peso a day... that is IMHO the best way to explore the surroundings.

Well beach is around 30 Minutes south of Dumaguete.. A great place, the hire scooters and bikes, but a bit far from Duma...

    cheers

    Rhoody

Hi Tom, Can I share my thoughts on the question, What Expats can do to help be a part of the community? Well,First and foremost I would like to thank the Expats (The Dane and others) who created this wonderful and very helpful website. And to sir Rhoody and others who keep this website very entertaining and full of informations about Dumaguete. But stll, the time when Expats and Locals (other than GF and asawa's) really come to a union as one Dumaguete info family is still a bit non existent. However thanks for Rhoody's unending efforts to have this union, I think he has made a breakthrough with last Saturday's DI meeting. I know, the expats are all there to welcome the Locals but most of us Locals, Me particularly, am/are shy to really drop by and meet you guys. I once had a meal there at coco amigos, Just trying to feel the atmosphere and look for some expats who could be familiar but too bad,I recognize no one there lolz.Last Saturday, I passed by Italia restuarant around pass 5 in the afternoon. I found no Local nor Expats inside, maybe It was just too early. I feel that the place is just too exclusive for us Locals. Maybe the problem lies on our part, the locals for not meeting first us a group,We could get to know each other first before we, us a group could meet,You, the Expats. RHB and Echir, Are you Locals or Expats? You could take the lead in getting us together. Any Locals are welcome to take the lead. I could see One BIG DI family, with a major role in promoting our community, if this thing Materializes.
I believeand hope that most DI local members are agreeable to this idea.
