Let all cargos be loaded/unloaded in the Bacong Port or in Sibulan. It can handle the work and let Dumaguete Port be the passengers port only.

    What do you think?

Do I understand that the port @ dumaguete is still closed to the unloading of cargo? I read that Gloria Arroyo is going to be in Dumaguete Friday the 25th and may try to broker a deal with the parties involved. Keep me posted as I am going to be shipping a container of house hold goods and personal effects there in May.

    Thanks-Kenneth

More significantly she was here to wittness the signing of an agreement to set aside more agricultural land to the development of biofuels production, yes that's right biofuels, there is a foreign investment company willing to dump millions into a shared venture. So some have questioned the significance of growing biofuels as relevant to rice production? what has gloria done to forward rice farming and moving the Philippines to greater self sufficiency.

Why are developers grabbing agricultural land and converting it to no agricultural uses?

In all fairness, there are some biofuel crops that do not compete with areas of land ideal for rice production, but the larger issue is why not proritize the feeding of your people before developing biofuel products which are proven to be not cost effective in the long run?

Again no one is asking the right questions in my opinion.

Two months ago Warren Buffett, worlds richest man, conducted a forum on MSNBC. He answered e mails from viewers. One question was related to oil and bio fuels.

He stated bio fuels were counter productive, would cause food price increases and shortages. He said oil is the cheapest form of energy, nothing better than oil.

Soon after his comments, speculators began driving up the price of food.

    counterproductive inalll respects
more trees may be felled to make way for these crops and hence the second largest sink for C02 will become smaller Ie rainforests and other areas with a lot of trees
