    If you look closely at the photos, you will see a pregnant environmentalist walking her way to the River....raising an awareness on how to save the River.....

    How to Join YES Camp

    Hi, Josephen.... this year's Youth for Environment Summer (YES) Camp is embodied under DepEd Memo No. 43 authorizing all public and private elementary and secondary schools nationwide to allow their officers/members of the YES-O, Supreme Student Government, Supreme Pupil Government, Student Technologists and Enterpreneurs, Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperatives in Schools, Science and Environmental Clubs, Boyscouts and Girlscouts of the Phils, Campus Paper Editorial Staff, Sangguniang Kabataan and all other school-based clubs or organizations to participate to this Summer Camp. Teachers, Advisers, Principals, Education & District Supervisors, other Education officials and DENR Youth Desk Officers are also authorized to attend.

    Registration fee is P4,200.00 per participant to cover accommodation and meals, training kits, certificates, reproduction of modules, speakers' honoraria, T-shirts, bags and other incidental expenses of the camp. Organizers of this Camp are DepEd, DENR and KASAMA (Kabataang Sama-samang Maglilingkod, Inc.). This year's theme revolved with Climate Change: Warming Up the Youth for Global Environmental Activism.

    Past Summer Camps were held in Baguio City and Iloilo City. It was learned that next year it will be held in Baguio City again...

    I hope this info has answered your query. :wink:

    @hannah:

    Now I understand why my students/pupils at home never mentioned such wonderful event: because they can not raise the amount.

    Thank you and keep us informed,
    Josephen

    They are students that represent in every school, youth officials from municipalities and other sectors.Mostly when it comes to this kind of events( especially this is Environmental Awareness) their mean expenses have a sponsor who shoulder the fees of registration etc…or some kind of solicitation.I’m also a sangguniang kabataan official before , when we have some youth events to attend our expenses was taken from the baranggay money.But I don’t know of some school if they let their students shoulder this 4000+.For me if this 4,200 ( that's only registration) is really from the students own pocket.I would say this event is only for the affluent.

    @daffs:

    Thank you, daffs. So pity are those who do not participate in any local activities...or those students who are 'less' fortunates..those who can not get a financial sponsor for this.

    Talking about 'barangays', I do not even think we have one representative. Thank you for the idea, daffs. I will be sending the kids at home to the barangay council and let them ask for a list of any participant of the event. I bet they do not have one...

    Have a happy week, everyone!
