missed that spot guys, but went to hayahay and lab-as which served good food, but not so cold beer, and their brandy was adulterated (it was sweet and served with ice) but they have good wine and friendly service.

I like beer at 45 degrees F for flavor, but our foreign customers, especially North Americans, and some Germans like it at near freezing 35 F. We keep about a dozen in the freezer for those guys, the rest is around 38-40 degrees F. We have insulated holders to maintain the temp.

Red horse Grandes consummed mostly by our local customers, is served at less cold temps with glasses and ice.

The brandy here is well, not the best nor the rum in my opinion. Generoso Brandy seems to be popular right now. The kids mix it with juice or sprite and swill it for effect.

I really like the Tanduay rum and so do a lot of my friends here in aussie. For my taste it is way better than the more famous rums like Coruba and Bunderberg. We drink it with coke, ice and calamansi or limes so that may disguise the taste somewhat. I know a guy here who somehow got a container load of 1 litre 5yo Tanduays (the big "flat") past aussie customs and made a heap selling it for A$20 (800 pesos) a bottle. You can't get it in the liquor stores here. In my younger days I had a wooden padded box made up in the Phils and I used to bring back a dozen bottles at a time. That worked well until the agricultural inspectors confiscated the box (but not the rum). Unfortunately they have changed the rules and we are now restricted to 2 litres.

Well, you man, need to taste some good Cuban Bacardi rum or Jamaican Appleton light. But then I am a rum and tonic man. with a twist rubbed around the rim of the glass.
