No.... he did not have all the luck in the world.
His resort is for sale indeed.
What nice should it be if we could buy his plane for a bargain price and sink that in front of our beach for making wreck dives.
If I'm not wrong the airplane is a Dakota.

    Hi all,

I'm planning on arriving in the Philippines at the beginning of July and I haven't been able to track down a house to rent in the Dumaguete area. I was wondering if it would be too much of an imposition to ask if anyone could direct me to a reliable realtor that will help me out? I'll have to find a house rental before I arrive because I'm brinning my 2 dogs with me. At least that's what I hope to do. If anyone can help out with an email, or name and phone number, I'd appreciate.

    Thanks,

    Tom

Shipping! Holllllyyyyy, I forgot about shipping!!!! no, I'll stop being silly. Presently Tim, I'm searching for a shipper, and I have to ship things to two different locations, one to Australia for my wife, and one to the Philippines, but that is next weeks task, and if at all possible I'm going to try and get rid of as much as possible, and only bring what I can with me on the plane. the real challenge are bringing my 2 dogs. When I find a shipper, I'll have absolutely no problem giving all the details of the shipping, except as you say, the contents. That's what we're here for, is to share things like this. So, hopefully next week I can let you know as much as possible Tim.

    Sincerely,

    Tom

Almost nearly a whole year since the last post. Did Tom ever sell that house and find a place to rent in Dumaguete?

    Resort for sale

Jelly you mentioned the resort was for sale. Has anyone bought it yet and if not do you know where the property was listed? Asawa ko tells me it was popular with the locals because he did not price the use of his pool where most of the locals could not afford to go there. Do you think or know if the owner is still in the PI?

This place is still for sale i guess.
There is a telephonenumber on the frontgate, as far as i know there is no agency selling this property.
For my idea this could have been a goldmine but it was bad managed.
On sunday a lot of people came there and on weekdays it was empty.
It is a big place, with swimmingpool, big garden, a kind of hot-spring-yacuzzi, a covered place for children to play and the airplane.
There was a 60 peso entrancefee and you could bring your own food & drinks.
There was a restaurant but i didn't figured it out where it was because everybody was bringing their own food & drinks.
About the place between BPI and cathedral, it is now a Jolibee.

Yes, wonder what happened to Tom. Right on the verge of moving to Negros. Seemed a real nice guy and even though he had some mobility issues....I thought Dumaguete would have been an ideal spot to get away and spend many relaxing years for him and his Aussie wife. Hope he's going ok....

    on the verge

    Hi Garbonzo,

Yes, I we were certainly on the verge on relocating to Dumaguete, but sad circumstances happened and my wife decided that Australia (her home) was less stress to move to than the Philippines. As we got closer to closing on my home, she became more concerned with safety issues in the Philippines, despite all the information from here and other sources. The final nail came by way of her sons both having children during the first few months of last year. So, making a long story short, she wanted to be closer to her grandchildren, and I honestly couldn't blame her. As for me, I did sell my home in upstate NY, and relocated to Arizona until my divorce is complete. After a lonmg year of adjusting to the changes, it looks like my divorce will be complete in August. I'm pawning my two dogs off onto my brother in Maine and then catching a plane to the Philippines. I'm sure it will be an adjustment for me to go from 100f temp., here in Arizona with low humidity to the humid tropics, so I'm guessing I'll be staying inside a majority of the day, and come outside in the mornings and evenings until I get used to the humidity. So, not that I wanted all these changes of this type in my life, just like each of you, I'm going to make the change just fine, and am looking forward to getting there. I'm glad to see the airline prices are still reasonably low, but still wish I could go by boat. Anyway, I hope to get to meet some of you folks very soon.
