Think I will pass on the Dream satellite service but thanks for providing another option.

Frank, there are many areas of Valencia that have good internet available, you just happened to choose a location where it is not. In this part of the country, no matter what city or municipality you live in, there are areas that will be impossible or nearly so to get internet. There are dead areas in Dumaguete as well, unless you want to pay the big bucks.

To discriminate against all of Valencia because of lack of internet in a specified remote area is simlilar to moving out of New York State because there is no deer left in NYC.

    Larry.

    Hi Larry,

I have heard only good things about Valencia and certainly would prefer to live there if I could find a real nice house to rent - that has access to Smart Bro.

If anyone knows of such a house please send me some info on it.

    Frank

unless you pay for the bigger bandwidth, even the DSL service in the city varys greatly. Inconsitent service and speeds are common. A while ago they had disruptred service off and on for several weeks, (Globe DSL). This was due to the cable being cut somewhere in the mid east affecting a lot of Asia.

I asked if they were going to effect a rebate, they said yes, but no rebate came. Yesterday I paid my bill in person, asked the girl what happened to the rebate, she said Oh, it will be reflected in next months bill.

HMM I thought... I said take off this months bill and she did. 500 peso discount. So all you Globe broadband users, just go downtown with bill in hand and ask politely for your two week credit.

skycable works well. Go to their office or call them to see if they are in Valencia.

I just had a chat with a DI member this week,
he told me that the highest speed IT outlook offers is the speed they take your money. (even it is cheaper now, but still totally overpriced for the service)

But hey, we also have to think about where we are. At least they adjusted to the Country.
.. "give me your money now and we will work tomorrow" (and tomorrow in Philippino time can be anything... from next week until never ever).

    Hi Rhoody,

What did these people ever do to you, since you hate them so much?

Gentle, Rhoody is a realist. You ever pay for a meal and it takes 2 seconds for the server to take your money and 30 minutes to get your change! Wake up! I did not see or read anywhere the word 'hate'. Hate is a strong word. How do you know if he was not laughing when he made his comment above? You dont. The IT in dumaguete is just plain lousy! I went through a hell of time to get skycable set up at my house. The whole experience was an unbelievable nightmare! Then, I did not get the speed that I was paying for and I was told that it was because too many people had illegally tapped onto the line. I am smiling while I write this.

    tubigboy,

The word used was not just based on this particular post but many before that, some of them distorting the truth if not outright lies. Unfortunately he can press the block button if he don't like opposition. Very democratic.

    Gentle,

it is very simple, I had to work with them as an Internet provider in Dauin, and all they delivered was a bag of Hot Air, many many lies, stupid excuses but no steady connection.

IT outlook is one of the main reason why the two owner of DumagueteInfo had to move away again, read in another thread how fantastic the service is...

Dumagueteinfo is here to provide information, NOT to lie to people. If members are asking for a "reliable high speed Internet" it is our duty to inform that IT Outlook is NOT one of them. The only "High" is the price and the Antenna...
People moving to Dumaguete and inform them self beforehand about options and opportunities. So we better tell the truth about this company instead of the Bola this company does. There are enough IT-Outlook victims around already, no need to have more.

You are correct !!! In many posts before are original quotes of the lame and lousy excuses and lies, IT Outlook has sent to the Dane.

I don't need to block anybody and it is good that you try to be an opposition, but on this topic there is no discussion here a nice summary:
