Thalatta did not look like that in 2005, go2dbeach.
Change the date into your camera to 2008
    Nice pictures you made.
I know that place very well because it's my neighbour at 5 minutes beachwalk.
Your quite right about the restaurant, pool and friendly personel.

We spent 7 nights there last months and only good comments about this place: nice rooms, very good restaurant (sure one of the best in the area), good dive shop (Easy Diving). Please don’t say that the place is expensive when you discover the quality of the resort and the entire plus included in the room rates. I have been to resort in the area where they were charging internet or 50 pesos per extra towel.

I did not say it is expensive, but I don't stay in a resort the whole time anyway as we are out mostly to visit relatives or make nice trips. And just for bed and beakfast it is not cheap, diba? that's why I call it pricy

Based on the pictures posted, 2,600PhP with breakfast for two, with a beautiful beach scenery, a clean, cooling swimming pool to splash and a very good restaurant and bar is not bad at all... I do think, you get what you are paying for...

Expensive doesn't necessarily mean bad value! Thalatta is much more expensive than other options in the area, but it has better facilities than many too - it depends what your budget it and what you are looking for!

I dived there and had lunch there, but budget meant I stayed at Malatapay beach resort which is nearby and a lot cheaper. The dive shop at Thalatta (Easy Diving) was really great, with a fab new shop and area for kitting up and rinsing your gear. Lunch was really nice too and all the staff were very friendly. The pool is also one of the best I've seen... very deep. If you can afford it it would be a nice place to stay. However it is less Filipino than other places... in terms of room style and food - depends what you are looking for!

you get what you are paying for
but My only complaint is that it appeared to get a lot of walk in guests using the swimming pool. I may be wrong about this
this is annoying if you want to use the swimming pool to swim

I don't think, when I was there they were refusing big groups, only a few guests were using the SM in 5 PM

as a complete newbie, i've to ask this now:
will stay for some days next year in Tahalatta Beach Resort (looks really great and the price is imho also not too bad for it...).
so what activities (except of diving) can be done there?
i mean some sight-seen during the day and also maybe a bit action in the evening/night!
is there something around the Resort that's worth the visit??

    thanks for the input!

Andi, welcome here on this forum.
As you still have all the time until your stay here, you better read the many threads on this forum. You can also select via the search function.
If your stay only a few days you won't be able to see a lot of the environment.
    Around Thalatta (my neighbour):

    -Malatapay market on each Wednesday
    -Lake Balanan (near Siaton)
    -Tambobo bay
-Apo Island (also for non divers)
-Dumaguete (at 25 km, whatever you want: from boulevard, bars, restaurants till cockpit fight  and disco)
